Looking out at the current boy who was trying his luck with Asuka, Fubuki said, "You know the old saying."
"Which one?" answered Ryo, who had heard quite a few old says that weren't worth bothering with and was trying to remember if any of them had been connected to stalkers. If it were a crime to follow Asuka around then whole prison blocks would be filled.
"The one about love," replied Fubuki, which didn't narrow it down, "Love being in the air."
"I'm sure that was a song," sighed Ryo, who thought it would probably be better if Fubuki didn't get anymore ideas about setting guys up with his sister after what had happened with Manjoume, "And I really don't think flying babies are the best ways to visualise love."
There were many sarcastic comments that Fubuki could make in regards to love and babies, but he chose not to.
"Well, I think it's nice that they try," he reasoned, watching as the current suitor walked away dejectedly.
"You'd think they'd have got the message by now though," responded Ryo.
Shaking his head at how much of an amateur his friend was to this, Fubuki informed, "Love is blind."
"Well it shouldn't be flying then."
"That's probably a metaphor too!" Fubuki said, not one to easily be defeated, "It shows how love hits you hard when it's flying around because it has no idea where it's going."
"Sensible people did not write metaphors," was the closest Ryo could come to agreeing. Nor did they try to understand love.
"What do you think love is then?" asked Fubuki, turning from Asuka to look at him.
After a brief thought, Ryo answered, "Nine parts delusion and one part devotion."
"Delusion's a bit harsh, but you've got a point about it I think. A bit more devotion would be nice though," Fubuki said thoughtfully.
"Anymore devotion and it gets clingy," argued Ryo, walking away from the window only to be followed by his friend.
Fubuki reasoned, "But any less would be neglectful."
"Depends how paranoid the person you're with is. Imagine if all the girls you've ever dated wanted you to be devoted to them."
They both knew that it would be more devotion than Fubuki was humanly possible to spread out.
"Not to mention all the girls would fight with each other. Though that might not be a bad thing," Fubuki mumbled cheekily.
"Some days I wonder what you would do if they didn't fawn over you so much," said Ryo, trying to imagine life with Fubuki that didn't involve girls squealing after him if he walked too far out in public.
"I'd have to work on that one part devotion, or else look for love elsewhere…" He narrowed his eyes suggestively at Ryo.
"In your dreams!" choked Ryo, hoping he could forget what he'd just seen.
Laughing, Fubuki replied, "Yeah, along with those blind, flying cupids that bash into everything."
"If they knocked you over it would teach you a lesson for trying," Ryo answered, heading off into one of the study rooms in an attempt to lose Fubuki. It didn't work.
Two of the blue students blinked after them as their talk could still be heard from the other room.
"Do you reckon they know how much of a married couple they sound like?" one said to the other.
"They have to, two people can't argue that fondly without being lovers," his friend confirmed.
Really the two had no one but themselves to blame for any rumours that were started about them.
