The sound of the television blared in the background as Rory laid in the bathtub with a warm washcloth over her forehead. She had been feeling sick the past week, but wasn't a fan of doctors, so she decided to wait the illness out on her own.
Three weeks earlier Rory and Logan had celebrated their fifth year anniversary by taking a spontaneous trip to Fiji. The trip was romantic and relaxed. Just the way Rory liked to spend her time with Logan, reminiscing about their relationship.
Once back from their vacation, Logan headed back to New York and Rory stayed in LA. Logan was planning on returning in just a few weeks to spend the month doing business meetings, so that him and Rory could spend time together.
It had been almost two weeks of Rory feeling sick and she wasn't getting any better. She decided to call Logan and ask what she should do.
"Hey beautiful! What's up?"
"I'm still sick, Logan. It's not getting any better and I'm always hungry but it makes me so nauseous to eat."
"Please see a doctor, Rory. I'm starting to get worried."
"Ok. I'll make an appointment and tell you how it goes."
Rory hated going to any kind of medical doctor and was dreading making an appointment.
"Good Morning. Dr. Hill's office, how may I help you?"
"Hi, I need to make an appointment for Rory Gilmore."
"Ok. How about 8am Tuesday July 30th?"
"Yes, that will work."
"Ok, perfect. See you on Tuesday."
After hanging up the phone, Rory went into the kitchen to get a bag of cheetos and some mustard. This seemed to be the only thing that didn't make her sick to her stomach. "What is wrong with me?" She thought, laying on the couch flipping through channels.
In just a couple of days she will get a surprise of a lifetime that will both destroy her family and bring it together at the same time. Of all the people, how will it affect Rory's mom? Unexpected beginnings are about to rock through the Gilmore family in more than one way.
