AU Where Bariss didn't do the bombing and Ahsoka stayed at the temple for Order 66.
Trapped in the room bleeding out from her wounds Ahsoka wondered how it had come to this, her home, her life in ruins, all because of the new Sith Lord Darth Vader.
At first she hadn't believed the temple was under attack, until she saw the clones marching on the temple in waves of white.
Clones began slaughtering the younglings whose training couldn't hold up under such a massive onslaught. They began falling back and retreated rapidly, the masters who remained at the temple weren't faring much better, bearing the brunt of the attack in an attempt to cover the younglings and Padawans.
Looking back at the battle even the master had fallen in the sea of blaster fire, and one mysterious blue lightsaber that looked horrifyingly familiar. Early on in the fight she had been ordered to escort the only surviving younglings left to the council's room to rendezvous with the surviving masters so they could break the blockade and escape.
Before she'd even closed the door on the room she was confronted by a familiar presence, confirming her fear that her master has turned to the darkside.
"Anakin! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, YOU SHOULD BE DEFENDING US NOT SLAUGHTERING US" she screamed at him.
Eyes yellow and skin pale he looked like a shadow of himself, "Sorry Snips the Jedi have turned against the republic and need to be punished for it"
"That pack of LIES justifies murdering defenseless children?"
"Join me and together we can save the republic from itself"
"Never Anakin, I will never turn to the darkside, how you can betray your friends and family like this, I thought we meant something to you"
"I HAVE NO FAMILY" he roared and with that he began his attack.
A fierce battle began between master and apprentice, and as she could hold her own against Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader was another story. Unable to comprehend the level of rage the fought with, the battle was short lived. With a finishing strike he left her to die alone from his attacks .
Unbeknownst to Vader she knew she would not survive and was merely buying time for the younglings escape, knowing she succeeded she was content to become one with the force. Her only regret was being unable to save Anakin from himself, hopeful that one day he would be redeemed she became one with the force, embracing those who had already passed on.
