Disclaimer: All the characters, except Eryn, are from Rick Riordan's books.

Prologue

Eryn Young was a teenager with really light blond hair. They reached the middle of her back and they were always straight, no matter the humidity outside. She had purple, tenebrous and dreamy eyes with long and black lashes. Her skin was extremely white, almost ghostly. People said that Eryn was a shy and mysterious girl, because nobody ever saw her. She didn't go to school, didn't have any friends and never leaved her house.

Of course, people didn't know the truth. Sometimes, Eryn had some "personality disorder". In fact, her gorgeous purple eyes became entirely black and she looked like she was duplicating in three vaporous bodies. When this happened, Eryn was weird, even scary. She seemed confused, scared and mad. Her father, William Young, kept her confined in their house; for fear that people discover the truth about his strange daughter.

On the other side, William knew the real reason his daughter's disorder. He perfectly remembered the woman with blonde hair and black eyes that seemed surrounded my mist. She has three vaporous bodies. The mysterious woman had spent only three days with William before she disappeared. A few months later, she came back with a baby covered in a black blanket that seemed hazy. The woman told William her true identity before she gave him the baby. She never came back. Sometimes, in the mist, William saw a beautiful lady with long light blonde hair, but when he came closer, the shape disappeared.

Everything changed when a stranger knocked to the door of the Young's house. William spoke a few minutes with the guy, who seemed at least fifteen years old. His eyes were sad but comprehensible. He said to his daughter that she had to pact her things.

— For how long? Eryn demanded.

— Forever, her father answered.

After some emotional goodbyes, Eryn Young leaved her house for the first time in her whole life, perplexed. Why did she have to leave her house so quickly with a complete stranger?

— We have a lot to talk about, you and me, said the stranger. For now, all you have to know is that we're going to Camp Half-Blood and that my name is Grover.

Eryn understood nothing about this, but something inside her knew that she can trust this guy. She took a seat in the car and looked at her house for the last time, a tear of sadness and incomprehension rushing down her face.
