'Did you need anything else, mah lady?' Donatello asked April who lay sprawled helpless on the couch.
'I'm fine, thank you Dah-!' April sneezed into her blanket, well Donnie's blanket but his was closer than hers.
'I'm going to check your temperature now. Remember not to swallow.' Donnie softly slipped the thermometer between her lips. April's lips were so dry from wiping them dry. 'You seem to be stable. Very hot, but stable.'
'Iv mah tempapur bood?' April mumbled past the glass stick.
'If what I understand as 'is my temperature good? then yes it is, but still a bit high.' Donnie took the thermometer out of her mouth to clean it in the kitchen. He came back out with medication and a cupcake.
'If you take your medicine April, I'll give you a cupcake.' He sat next to her holding the cupcake near her face.
'Okays.' April opened her mouth for the liquid, and dramatically swallowed it down. 'That was treacherous, Donnie.' She frowned, her eyes were glossy with the flu and sadness.
'I'm sorry, April.' Donatello laughed. 'But you get to have this cupcake I made you.' He unwrapped it and put some in April's mouth.
She opened willingly for the dark red velvet. She pulled the blanket back around her neck and covered her head, showing only her face. Pulling her legs up to her chest gave her the heat she needed in the cold lair.
'Donnie?' April looked to him, pouty lipped and sniffed.
'Yes?'
'Come closer, I'm cold.' She shifted as best she could toward him though it was really just about a centimeter.
'Not a problem.' Donatello lifted April's blanket and picked her up. He placed her on his lap. 'Are you feeling warmer?'
'I'm feeling much better. Thank you, Donnie.' His reward was a dry kiss, but a kiss nonetheless, on his cheek.
'You're very welcome.' Donnie kissed April's hot forehead, wiping a loose tendril away from her eye. 'My sweet princess.'
