Well here it is guys, I wrote this on whim after a very weird dream. For now this is just going to be a Prologue to see what readers think and what I need to change. So tell me what you think and the next chapter of The Destined will hopefully be up soon….READ ON….
Darkness encased Devon Thomas as he cowered under his bunk, his lupine ears lifted in dreadful anticipation of the horror that had not arrived. He knew he was the last one alive on the station, some sixth sense deep in his stomach told him this. Just four hours earlier everything had been going as usual, until that ship showed up. Alien in design, all scans of the otherworldly craft showed no signs of life but they were wrong. Soon after the ship was towed into dock Jensen disappeared, then reeves, and the commander. Devon had survived due to his cowardice or so he thought.
"I've got to do something" he whispered to himself. Slowly a plan formed in his fear fogged mind, he knew the station like the back of his paw so even in the stations powered down and darkened state he could easily reach the single escape pod. After a few minutes of listening to every sound that floated to his ears he slowly emerged from beneath his bunk and grabbed the emergency release lever on his door. "3…2…2……….1" he counted and pulled the lever. As soon as the door was open enough he was off, two quick lefts and one final right later he reached his destination. Deeply surprised that he was still alive he stepped inside the pod and entered the launch codes. A small laugh escaped him as he had survived, he felt alive but it was short lived when he felt a hand rest on his shoulder. He felt a hot breath on his neck as the creature spoke into his ear. "Thank you" it whispered. Devon felt a shiver run down his back as he realized what he had just done, the pod was programmed to autopilot itself back to Corneria. The Soul Eater smiled as its ripped the wolf's very life essence from its body, a pleasured sigh escaping its lips. "Corneria" it said as the wolf's thoughts became his own "billions of souls to reap".
