This is my first Harry Potter fanfic with, hopfully, more to come. (did I spell hopfully wrong? My bad) This is so short but I was really bored. R&R is you want. Later. [:

"Rose? What're you doing here? Are you looking for Albus?" Scorpius was sad. Rose never came to visit him even if it was late at night. Even though he loved her, he doubted it would out. Plus the fact that Rose probably didn't love him and never would.

But Rose shook her head.

"No, actually, I'm looking for you."

"Oh," Scorpius brightened a bit.

"Why?"

"Well, you see, I was in the Gryffindor Common Room and I…I had an epiphany."

"Really? That's, um…good."

Rose smiled and Scorpius' heart skipped a beat.

"Can I talk to you about it? It's kinda… um… personal."

"Okay." Scorpius walked out of the portrait and followed Rose. She was so beautiful, he thought, she had long auburn hair and the most amazing blue eyes. But he'd never tell her. He couldn't. If he did… they wouldn't be able to be friends, even with Al as a go between.

"Come on, Scorpius," said Rose, grabbing his hand and leading him up to the Astronomy Tower. Scorpius' heart beat double time at the contact and he felt a wave of electricity flow between them.

Once they had reached the top, Rose turned to face him. She was so pretty, he thought again. He wished she felt the same way. But she didn't, she never could…

"So… here we are."

"Yep," there was an awkward pause.

"What you wanted to tell me?" prodded Scorpius gently.

"Well," Rose fidgeted, "I know that you and me have been friends for a while, even though I'm a Weasley and you're a Malfoy. Even though I'm in Gryffindor and you're in Slytherin."

"I know. Go on,"

"You're so brave all the time," she said suddenly, "You've always been braver than me. Sometimes I don't know why I'm in Gryffindor."

"Because you're brave," said Scorpius softly, "I'm not brave at all."

"See, I know that you think I hate you and really I don't. I mean, we've been friends for so long and that…"

"Rose, you're babbling," he took her hands in his, hoping to calm her down.

"I know, thank you. What I wanted to tell you is that, well, that I don't hate you. In fact, it's quite the opposite." Scorpius caught his breath; Rose took it the wrong way.

"I mean, I'll understand if you don't feel the same way. I'll just go. It was really stupid to think that you…" Rose began to pull away, but Scorpius just tightened his grip.

"I do love you," he whispered.

"You do?"

"I could never lie to you. I could to the teachers, to the students, even myself. But not to you, never to you."

Rose's face broke into a smile that took his breath away.

"I think you're the brave one," she said simply as he pulled her in and hugged her. Then, he did the very thing he dreamed of doing since day one.

He kissed her.

And it was one that would continue for what seemed like forever.

One that he wouldn't have just once, but time and time again.

And he'd always love her, despite the fact she was a Gryffindor.
