The rain pounded deafeningly on the windows. Lightning flashed nearby, illuminating Minto's terror-filled face. She kept glancing back and forth between the window blocked by her wardrobe and the door which was barricaded with everything else she had in her cottage. As she backed into the still hot wood stove she yelped, jumping forward instantly. She bit down on her lip until it bled to prevent herself from screaming. As loud as the rain was, it couldn't drown out the sound of the scratching on door. The creature on the other side growled ferociously as Minto clutched her axe tighter, tears streaming down her face. Then, all the scratching and growling stopped.
Minto froze.
She didn't even shift her eyes. It was as if her eyes were glued to the door. Then, there was a loud bang against the door as the creature rammed itself against the barrier to Minto, then pulled back and tried again. This continued, the door rattling dangerously every time, until all the noise ceased once again. Minto stared at the small window in the door as a shadow appeared in it, eyes glowing. Its breath fogged up the glass, yet she could still see those eyes.
Minto let out a scream as the glass broke and the creature howled.
Aizawa Minto
A young, aristocratic lady that currently resides in the woods outside of Tokaimoya, in a small cottage with her cat, Ichigo. She left her mansion in town, due to the pressures put on her by her family members. She adores Zakuro, although she doesn't know why or how. She sincerely hopes that her feelings for the actress are not immoral.
Fujiwara Zakuro
A mysterious, beautiful young actress, who has taken an interest in dear Ms. Aizawa. Little is known about her history, which she guards very well. Pai's biological sister.
Ichigo
A cat that really does seem to have nine lives, possibly more. She's been around since before anyone could remember, yet she not a grey hair can be found on her sleek black coat of fur.
Kurogawa Retasu
Maiden name; Midorikawa Retasu. She is the doctor's wife. Unlike many of the girls she attended school with; she married for love, although her parents were against her marrying so young.
Fong Purin
A young performer at the local theater, and an orphan. She came to Tokaimoya by way of circus.
Kurogawa Pai
The village's doctor and surgeon, considered to be one of the finest in the world. However cold he may seem, his façade always seems to slip around his beloved wife, Retasu.
Kurogawa Kisshu
Pai's step brother, who lives in the city, away from his brothers. He likes cats, and is especially keen on Minto's feline friend, Ichigo.
Kurogawa Taruto
The youngest of the Kurogawa brothers. Taruto lives with his oldest brother, Pai and his brother's wife, Retasu.
Kurogawa Ao Fukai
Leader of Deep Blue, a mysterious company without any particular purpose known to the public. Father of Kisshu and Taruto, Pai's stepfather.
Aizawa Seiji
Minto's older brother.
Baaya
The Aizawa's housekeeper.
Akasaka Keiichiro
A pastry chef at the only bakery in town; all other bakeries were run out of business by Keiichiro's cooking skills.
Shirogane Ryou
A young man that lives with Keiichiro. Although he is an orphan, he still has his inheritance from his wealthy family, and it still very much considered an aristocrat among his peers.
Aoyama Masaya
Professor of Environmental studies at the local school. The youngest Professor in the region, he graduated from a prestigious university at the age of 17. He is currently in his early 20s.
Momomiya Shintaro and Momomiya Sakura
The violin maker and his wife.
