A/N Thanks to JustCallMeMarly for the Beta. Your really helpfull.
Special Agent Gibbs was standing in front of the very familiar plasma screen when he heard the director's voice behind him.
"Gibbs! I need to talk to you!" When he paid no attention to her, or made any movement to suggest he heard her, she snatched the remote to the plasma off of Timothy McGee's desk and turned it off.
"Now, Gibbs!" He turned to face her.
"What is it, Jen?" he asked as though he hadn't noticed her sooner.
"As I previously stated, I need to talk to you!" she exclaimed, thoroughly upset with him. This caused the other three agents to cower back behind Tony DiNozzo's desk to be as far away from where their two bosses were currently having a discussion.
"Well then speak, Jen," Gibbs said, knowing he was annoying her.
"In private, Gibbs!" She turned in her heels and walked off, heading towards the staircase. He followed for a moment but then turned towards the elevator.
"Gibbs, where do you think you are going?" she hollered from the base of the stairs.
"Jen, if we are going to talk we are doing it in my office, not yours!" She considered arguing but relented and followed him to 'his office'. Once in the elevator, Gibbs pulled the E-Stop switch.
"Well, I think that was pretty believable," she said smiling at him
" If you were patient we wouldn't have had to do that, Jen" he said
"Oh, come on Jethro, we both know you wanted to be alone as bad as me." He smiled at her.
"Well, maybe, but I could have waited. And besides, you have ulterior motives," he said wrapping his arms around her.
"Oh yeah? And what is that Jethro?"
"You want to know what your anniversary present is, but I am not going to tell you!" he said, kissing her deeply.
"Tell me, Jethro!!" she demanded. He chuckled as he expected nothing less of her.
"Nice try, Jen, but I'm not telling you. You'll get it tonight at dinner!" She accepted defeat on that matter, but there was still one more thing.
"Speaking of dinner, Jethro... are you going to tell me where we're going?" she asked hopefully.
"Nope," was all he said.
"Tell me!"
"No, Jen,"
"But Jethro, I have to know so I know what to wear!" she said, hoping that would work.
"No you don't. I talked to Rika and the new outfit I bought you is hanging up in your closet. When you get home she'll get you all set."
She looked at him in defeat before saying, "You know Jethro, you are one stubborn pain in the butt." He smiled wide at her declaration,
"You're right, Jen, but you know that's why you love me," he stated matter-of-factly. Her frustrated expression softened.
"That's true, I do love you," she said as she stared into his beautiful eyes.
"I love you too, Jen." he said, kissing her passionately one more time before pulling away. They took another minute to wipe the smiles that were now pasted on their faces from the words they had just spoken off. Then Gibbs flipped the switch and they both put on their usual agitated expressions before stepping off the elevator. Jenny stomped off towards her office and Gibbs went back over to where his team had just scattered away from Tony's desk because they had been discussing what their bosses were arguing over in the elevator.
Gibbs stood in front of the plasma screen as if expecting it to be on. He then turned to McGee and gave him the look even Tony was still afraid of.
"McGee, fix this... thing," he growled, referring to the screen that was still off.
"On it, Boss. McGee said, grabbing the remote off the desk and turning the plasma screen back on.
Business as usual.
