A/N: I wrote this for a homework assignment so don't be mad if it sucks. It only took me a half and hour to write. Plus this is my first short story. Please review but don't be to harsh (I have low self esteem)

Disclaimer: sadly, I do not own Youko (but I wish I did!)

It was a bright and sunny day as my family want out to the park, leaving me alone. I was very bored so I decided to play outside. I went down into my basement to get my in-line skates, and I saw a strange shadow under my staircase. Imagine my surprise when I saw it was a wounded silver fox laying on the floor. I quickly ran over to it to see if it was still alive. Fortunately, I saw its chest rise and fall indicating that it was breathing. I picked him up as gently as I could, but he started to wiggle out of my grasp as he whimpered in pain.

After several minutes of struggling with the fox he finally gave in and I carried him upstairs. I took him into the bathroom and prepared the bathtub. I gave him a quick bath and got rid of the sticky red substance on his silky silver fur. As soon as I finished blow drying his fur I attended to his wounds. I opened the drawer under the sink and pulled out the first-aid kit. I took out the bandages and wrapped his wounds. I put him on my bed to rest while I went back into my basement. I wandered around my basement to see how the fox got in. After a few minutes I found the window that I forgot to close two days ago. I mentally slapped myself across the face for forgetting to do something so important. I walked up to the window and closed it.

I ran back up the stairs and walked to my bedroom to check on the fox. When I entered my room the fox was gone. All that was left on my bed was a note and a blue rose. I picked up the note and read. It said:

Thank you for helping me. I am in your debt.

Until we meet again,

Youko Kurama

My eyes widened as I finished reading the note. The fox I took care of was no other than the fox demon Youko Kurama.
