AN: After writing so many GW drabbles with the theme of swimming I wanted to try one out for Doctor Who and see what I got. I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own the character from Doctor Who
A Moment's Peace
They sat together beneath the full moonlight on the edge of a motionless lake; its reflective surface was like perfect crystal. Rose couldn't resist breaking the glass like face by dipping her foot into the warm waters. She looked up at her companion, not at all surprised that the Doctor's eyes were turned heaven ward where the infinity of the universe sparkled silently.
She nudged him gently with her shoulder, "Isn't this a little quiet for you?"
"You mean no running?" he asked back looking down at her with a smile.
"I'm expecting it to come any minute," Rose joked, rarely did they visit a new world were running wasn't made part of their adventure. She loved those moments, her hand held tightly in his, heart pounding in her ears left utterly breathless. She knew he felt the same, didn't even have to look at him to know the connection was there.
"Oh well," he drawled head tilting to the side, "I had something a little different in mind."
Rose felt excitement spark within her as the Doctor's hand took hold of hers. When their eyes met the Time Lord jerked his head towards the water, a suggestive smile touching his lips. He didn't need to say anything else; Rose raised a seductive eyebrow and immediately reached for his tie pulling it loose.
They were in the water far faster than she'd expected, despite the layers the Doctor wore, he could remove them surprisingly fast. Rose dove below the surface, feeling the warm water surround her; before strong arms wrapped about her waist pulling her back up for air.
The Doctor's hair dripped into his face, long bangs hanging around his eyes. She'd never seen him look so magnificent, his smile nearly splitting his face as he held her in the water.
"No human has ever set foot in these waters," he told her glancing around the lake.
Rose leaned back in his arms legs continuing to tread water easily as she looked up to the moon. "This is a night for breaking rules," she whispered looking back at her Doctor, "Let's not stop now." Without hesitation she leaned in to kiss him and was thrilled when he met her half way. Alone together under the moon they held each other like they would never get the chance again.

Rose woke alone in her dark bedroom. Her lips still tingled with the memory of the Doctor's lips against hers. It had felt so real, so perfect. And yet here she was again, trapped in this alternate reality, where her Doctor couldn't reach her.
Turning over in her bed Rose shut her eyes against the tears, by now this had become common place for her.

"Doctor?"
The Time Lord blinked slightly misted vision clearing. The moonlit lake faded from view, as Donna's face came into focus.
"Are you alright?" she asked obvious concern on her face.
"Yeah," he lied, forcing his smile, he could still feel the touch of her lips, and it was haunting.
"I don't believe it!" she countered immediately. "I've only ever seen you look that sad once."
The Doctor looked away, not meeting Donna's eyes they just seemed to look right through him.
But Donna wasn't deterred, "You were thinking about her yeah? Thinking about Rose?"
A wan smile touched the Doctor's face, "It was only a memory..." he whispered softly.
