The Games People Play – Like Touch Football.
Spacegypsy1
S/J and D/V implied, ABCDEFG.
Synopsis: As Sam calculates the mathematical possibility of her current theory, Vala ponders the rules of touch football in relation to Daniel. Then - Sam considers the rules of touch football in relation to Jack, as Vala calculates the mathematical possibility of D plus V.
Sorry, not beta'd.
……
Vala's eyes, as round as the moon, were full of startled speculation. "What did you say?"
"I was reminding you, you're riding with Teal'c. I'm not going after all. I have too much to do. Remember…the park…the team with General O'Neill? Who whined until we all agreed?" Sam grinned, uncapping her red marker.
"Yes-yes, I know that, we're not doing team night, we're all going to a picnic. I'm supposed to bring a cooler of ice, which Muscles agreed to bring for me. But Samantha…did you…did you just say TOUCH football?"
Without a clue as to why Vala was so confused, Sam turned back to her calculation board and continued. "Uh huh. In the park. You're riding with Teal'c, and leaving in fifteen minutes. So, go!"
"Touch? Football?" Vala whispered the words with awe. "Samantha?"
Sam was calculating in green now. "Hmm?"
"Isn't that the football in commercials and movies where everyone is laughing, rolling around on the ground together, and there's a lot of…touching?"
The green marker came to a jarring halt. Lips softly sealed and stretched into a bemused smile, Sam turned, her eyes matching Vala's dreamy wide-eyed stare. "It is."
"And Daniel…he generally participates in this sport?"
"Yep. And Jack too."
"And Daniel…he wears jeans and a tight T-shirt to these events?"
Yep. And Jack too."
"And Daniel…he will drink beer?"
"Yep. And Jack will drink beer."
"And Daniel…when he has the football, I can touch his six, right? Without penalty of death, correct? And I can pull his T-shirt until it comes over his head, can't I? Without fear of decapitation…or de-hand-itation more accurately, true? And Samantha, if one should yank another player, say, on top of oneself, that would be considered playing by the rules, would it not? And… Hey! Where are you going?"
Sam called over her shoulder as she dashed out. "Do NOT leave without me, I'm going to change."
After the first ten minutes, Vala, chewing her lip, picked up the red marker and following, as best she could, the equations on the board she wrote: if the six of D is touched 6 x by V and V measures the circumference of D by encircling the waist of D and D falls matching the velocity of V, D landing on top of V, would D plusV equal…
"Vala! Teal'c's waiting. Come on, we have got to go!"
