"Jane, I just can't" It was those words that immediately hit Jane unexpectedly. Maura was breaking it all off and Jane couldn't think of what to say.
"Why are you doing this Maura? We were fine until now, why now?" Jane retorted trying to hold back the tears.
"I don't know Jane, this whole relationship is just too much for me. I love you I do Jane don't get me wrong" Maura said looking at her, trying to avoid her eye contact because Maura always knew Jane liked making eye contact
"Love Don't Run, Love Don't Hide, it won't turn away or back down from a fight, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere, love's tough, won't give up, no not on us. Baby love don't run" Jane couldn't help but word the lyrics to a song that had been in her mind for days.
Maura listened and looked down "I'm not running Jane"
"Yes you are, and until you figure that out. You're going to continue running and you won't realize it until it's gone" Jane said moving towards Maura
Maura backed up against the wall and looked at Jane "I'm scared okay? I'm scared that if I get to attached to you. Instead of me running one day, it's going to be you." Maura said "Do you know how many other hot women are out there Jane? A LOT"
Jane cocked her head to the side "You're all I've ever wanted Maura, or else I wouldn't have given up everything for you. I'm not going to run. I don't let love run."
"Prove it to me Jane, Prove to me that you won't run, or back down from a fight and that you won't give up" Maura stated
"I will because like I said" Jane paused and smiled towards Maura "Love Don't Run, Love Don't Hide, it won't turn away or back down from a fight, I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere, love's tough, won't give up, no not on us. Baby love don't run" Jane softly sang as she brought Maura into her arms and kissed her softly. This changing Maura's mind completely because her heart told her not to run.
