well, I finally got something done!

Okay so I lied... I actually wrote this for school, because they said "free topic!" and why wouldn't I write a poem about my most favorite thing in the world...(except for Cloud!) but once I finished, I read it over, and thought, 'hey! This is fanfiction worthy! And I need to put something up or my fans will stab me!' so this is it.

This can be in Aeris' point of view, or it can also not be in Aeris' point of view. You decide.

Note: this is before you may or may not of won her purple umbrella in Gold Saucer (smiles) I had to use symbolism, and blue represents truth, and this is the truth about Midgar.

They Say Nothing Can Grow Here

It's raining again.

The same sickly, green

Rain

That collects into Dark, murky puddles

That sticks to your shoes

Like a disgusting ooze.

The rain that the acrid taste can kill you alone

If it finds its way into your mouth.

I take a deep breath,

Almost choking on the heavy, putrid smell of oil

In the air.

I unsheathed the blue umbrella to protect me

From the Deadly rain that descended from the Dark green and black

Clouds.

No one understands.

We brought this curse upon ourselves with

Technology.

It wasn't always like this;

The rain,

The pollution,

The lack of care for life.

The rain

It used to be

Clear,

Clean,

Calm.

It used to water the fields of flowers

That surrounded our now corrupt city.

But all that's left is a vast desert.

They say nothing can grow here,

And there right.

Nothing, not even personality exists here.

What happened to the artists?

What happened to the individuality?

What happened to life?

My thoughts where interrupted by the sound of metal screaming against metal,

As the train came to a stop.

Everyone got off,

All from the same job,

all wearing the same uniform,

All pulling out black umbrellas.

Well, what do you think? I'm up for all reviews, even flames, as long as they are constructive criticism. If otherwise, just do yourself a favor and go bother someone else, I'm not the kind of person you want to get mad.
