A/N: A short drabble that I needed to get out of my head. Hope you enjoy. :)
~ She wondered sometimes, would there be a prince for her, too? ~
From the lonely tower, the birds could hear an angel singing a serene, sad song. The ones that caged birds sometimes sang in their misery. It had something fragile and heartbreaking, but the little angel's only audience were the animals that lived near the high and lonely tower.
When one would look more closely, they would see her glossy, golden blonde hair hanging out of the window. It almost reached the grass, making it look like a very sturdy rope. Rapunzel seemed to be playing with it, seemingly deep in thought.
She wondered sometimes, would there be a prince for her, too? Just like the ones in those fairytales? Because this world was cold, cruel and stormy, filled to the brim with mean and harsh people. Rapunzel knew more than enough about them, even if she'd never seen any other human being around here.
Mother had told her many times that her father had left them when she'd been a baby; he had been just as bad as the others, his mind poisoned. Poor Mother Gothel. She deserved a happy ending, more than anyone she knew (not that she actually knew anyone else except for her mom, herself and Pascal, but still. And Pascal didn't really count as a human, anyways). After everything she'd gone through, she deserved to get some rest, a reason to smile more than she did now. And she was such a wise and sweet mother, always knowing what was the best for her… The blonde knew that she could always count on the woman, and that was what made Rapunzel feel bad for her.
But if she really was lucky enough to meet her prince, what would he look like? The teen always imagined someone strong, brave, and smart. Perhaps tall, dark and handsome, with glossy hair and a straight, beautiful nose. Eyes like molten chocolate... or maybe that shade of steel blue that took her breath away. And he wouldn't mind listening to her constant rambling, at all.
Yes, that was how she imagined him to be. And of course, the majestic white horse couldn't be missed here. That was what made the picture complete.
