Disclaimer: I don't owe anything.
A/N: Hmm... I wrote this a few days ago, this is a semi-AU since it's in the future. Okay, I guess that's it.
'Oof!'
I wasn't looking to where I was going since I was on the phone when I bumped into someone. I held my hand out to the person I bumped into and when she looked up to me, I saw the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen.
"M-miss, are you alright? I'm sorry I bumped into you"
Oh great. I'm stuttering. If the guys found out I'm stuttering they'll laugh and annoy me for it… just great… I bet I looked stupid right now.
"I'm fine. It was my fault, really. I didn't look to where I was going."
She took my hand and almost instantly, I felt her hand fit in mine. Like it's supposed to be that way, I helped her stood up.
Now that I looked at her closely, she looks awfully familiar. I think I met her before, I just don't know where and when.
"Have I met you before miss?"
She looked a bit surprised and then she smiled. Ah… she looks better smiling.
"Me too, have you played tennis in middle school before?"
I smiled and nodded enthusiastically. That brings me back.
"Yes, I played for Hyoutei, and you?"
"I'm from Seigaku. My senpai-tachi played with them quite a few times now that I remember. Ah! Where are my manners? My name's Ryuuzaki Sakuno."
So that's why she looked familiar. She's the granddaughter of that demon coach, and I inwardly shivered at that train of thought. So the young girl that always watched the game on the sidelines turned into a beauty. I've always thought of her as pretty before, but there are a few things that stopped me from asking her out though. One, her grandmother's as scary as hell. Two, those guys from Seigaku are like her (over) protective brothers. Three, she's in love with Echizen that time.
The first two I can handle, don't look at me like that! Yes I can handle them! Sheesh! But, her heart's already belonged to someone else. How can I compete with that? Well, past is past. Let's just look at the present ne? It's now happening, and the past is long gone.
"Ah... Ryuuzaki-sensei's granddaughter! Who would have thought, huh? I'm Atobe Keigo, pleasure to meet you again Ryuuzaki Sakuno. Say, if you don't mind, would you like to grab a cup of coffee with me and just chat for a while? It's my treat."
She nodded in agreement. Yes, just look forward to the present.
"I have nothing much to do, so I'll accept your offer Atobe-san. It's been years haven't it?"
We started walking. Along the way, we talked.
"Yes, it's been years. What are you doing right now Ryuuzaki-san? If you don't mind"
"Oh no, it's fine! I've just started about a month ago to be a Home Economics teacher at Seigaku, how about you Atobe-san?"
"Me, I'm currently helping in running our family business"
Just being with her feels so right, just natural. I wonder how this will turn up in the future. I sure hope it's a good one.
