'Something's Different'

He remembers that she was soft, very soft, and smelled like the gardens and the sweet pudding he loved to eat. Her voice could be stern and commanding, but it was always soothing. She smiled, and he would smile too. Mother, even if she forgot to do everything else, would sing him to sleep every night. He remembers that lullaby even now, and sings it softly to Greta under his breath.

Mama was Wolfram's first love.

He trips and falls, scraping the skin off both his knees. There's blood on his hands, and his leggings are completely soiled. He's silent for a minute, confused and stunned from his first fall. His first defeat would go like this too, and his first heartbreak. It always hurt, but Brother Gwendal always took him into his arms and held him tight.

Brother Gwendal was Wolfram's second love.

He's angry that Brother Gwendal is too busy to play with him, and resorts to sulking in the courtyard in plain view. The servants all see him, but don't dare to intrude. "I hate –" he kicks a pebble with his tiny, delicate feet as hard as he can, and before he can finish he's interrupted by familiar footsteps. He looks up, surprised to see Conrad standing there with two play swords. Little big brother Conrad laughs, and so does he.

Little big brother Conrad was Wolfram's third love.

He didn't think that he would ever wait for someone. All his life, everyone waited for him. But now, something's changed, and he doesn't know what. He's crying as Yuuri climbs out of the fountain at the Shinou Temple, returning unannounced after his supposed final leave. He stomps his feet with all his might, fighting between relief and rage and all his other emotions, and all he can manage is a meager, "You wimp – !" Clueless, Yuuri smiles and responds with the utmost sincerity, "Wolfram, I'm glad to see you."

Now, Wolfram understands. Yuuri is his true love.
