A/N: This is just an idea I had. It's set in Ginny's last year of Hogwarts. It's fluffy, but please read it and tell me what you think. A random note: Right now I'm working on a novel-length Harry Potter story (it's going to be Remus/Ginny) and I was wondering if anyone wanted to edit it for me and stuff like that. Thanks! Now read and enjoy.

Love Doesn't Exist For Me

With the sun hanging in the robin's egg blue sky and couples strolling around Hogshead, it's obviously Valentine's Day. Remus J. Lupin wanders around Hogsmeade, slightly envying the happy couples. Love is near impossible for him to find. After all, no one wants to love a werewolf. He's only here for some chocolate and today seemed like a good enough day to go to Honeydukes. Valentine's Day is just like any other day for Remus.

In the corner of his eye he spots a mass of fire-red hair. A curious expression spreading across his face, he turns to see what it is. He finds the youngest Weasley sitting in a dark corner, curled into a ball. It's obvious she didn't want to be seen, and she would've succeeded, but red hair is not a good thing to have if you're attempting to hide.

'Honeydukes can wait till later,' Remus thinks as he plops down next to little Ginny. She's not so little anymore though. Now about eighteen, her fiery locks fall down to her waist and her body has filled out to make her a very lovely young woman.

"Ginny?" Remus whispers, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.

Ginny glances up, sniffing. Her chocolate brown eyes, normally vibrant and joyful, are bloodshot and puffy. Tear-stains speckle her cheeks.

"Professor Lupin-" Ginny begins, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Remus please, I'm no longer your teacher."

"Re-remus, why are you…" Ginny trails off.

"I'm just wondering why you aren't off enjoying your Valentine's Day."

"Love doesn't exist for me."

Remus stares at her, shock replacing confusion, "Why do you say that?"

"Because I'm an ugly, silly, little girl. I don't deserve love. The only reason I'm even here is because Ron and Hermione talked me into it." Ginny says, the pavement road suddenly more interesting then Remus' face.

"Ginny," Remus begins, lifting her chin so their eyes would meet, "You're not sill or ugly at all. The person who told you that was lying. You're a beautiful young lady."

Ginny tries to look away so she's not looking him straight in the eye, but Remus merely smiles and lifts her chin again.

"And of course you deserve love, why do you say that you don't?"

"Every guy that I've ever liked doesn't like me and ends up ignoring me. And every guy that's ever liked me doesn't really like me for me. They just want to get in my pants and when I won't let them, they break up with me!"

"Every one of those guys is not the guy for you then. Someday you will find him."

Ginny shakes her head, "I don't think so. If there is a guy for me, he'll see me and decide he doesn't like me for me, like that. After all, who would?"

"Ginny, that's not true! Any guy who doesn't like you is an idiot and is missing out."

"It's okay Remus. I'm resigned to my fate."

"You don't need to be resigned. Especially when love is right in front of you."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because…I love you," Leaning over, Remus plants a gentle kiss on her lips. He immediately pulls away though, eyes downcast. "Sorry, I shouldn't have done that. I-"

"Sssh," Ginny places a finger over his lips, silencing him, and then replaces her finger with her lips, giving Remus a soft kiss. "I love you too."

"This won't work, I'm twenty-one years older than you, and I'm a-" Remus rambles.

Ginny cuts him off, "It doesn't matter to me."

Smiling, Remus stands to his feet and gives Ginny his hand, helping her up. They intertwine their hands before Remus speaks, "Do you want to go to Honeydukes and get some chocolate?"

"Sure," Ginny smiles. "Remus?"

"Yes?"

"Thanks."

Remus smiles at her, and, in response, kisses her.
