It's the Deceiving Data Pair Request by Phantom DLizz! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone! ^^
Yanagi pondered over Niou for a while. These days, he has been turning slightly red and avoiding him.
Why?
He supposed the other was developing feelings for him, but that's what he decided was mysterious. What were the chances? Besides the fact he was, perhaps, attractive, he was boring and not very fun. People like Marui and Akaya were more enjoyable to be around. Yanagi tilted his head to the side, staring at the computer screen on his desk, thinking over what had happened with him and Niou that might lead to the sudden affection.
Was it when he helped Akaya during the Nationals?
No, that would've probably invoked Akaya's feelings instead of Niou's for being seen as caring, which he wasn't.
Was it when he treated them for ice cream?
That was probably the most unlikely one of all. Why would that cause Niou to like him?
He decided it was probably when he comforted the boy, after they lost the Nationals. Niou had seemed so fragile; he couldn't help but wrap his arms around him soothingly.
Suddenly, a question came to mind that made him freeze.
Why did he care so much?
*With Niou*
Niou groaned, dropping his head against the wooden table. He just couldn't forget the warmth of Yanagi's arms when he hugged him. They were strong and steady, making him feel safe and protected.
He grimaced, tousling his own hair and leaned back. Niou felt weird. And irritated.
A week after that occurrence, he felt his heart thump ever so quickly when he saw Yanagi's face, and his voice sounded so…
Gah.
"I think I'm going crazy." Niou got out of his chair, jumping onto the bed and smothering his face into the pillow.
He was acting like a giggly schoolgirl who just got asked out by her crush. He rolled around, kicking the mattress when his phone suddenly rang. Niou fell off the bed, crawling over to see who was calling him. It was Akaya.
"Yo." He managed, trying to stay calm and composed.
"Niou."
Ah deng. It just had to be Yanagi, didn't it.
"Wha – why are you using Bakaya's phone?"
"He's with me right now."
"You sound like you're holding him hostage."
"I might be."
"What the freak."
"Don't start cursing – you're on speaker and Akaya might start cursing too."
"No, I won't, Yanagi-senpai!" Akaya piped, scowling.
He could hear his smooth, deep, low voice reply, "You would."
And it was killing him softly. He tried to resist the strong urge to tell him what he's feeling, but when Yanagi said his name, he just gave up.
"Masaharu."
"GoddamnitRenjiIdon'tknowwhat'shappening… IthinkIfellinlovewithyouandit'skillingme. Ohyeah, andyourvoiceisjustsodamnsexy."
Ah, he's dead, isn't he?
*Line break*
Yanagi blinked. Akaya had come over to his house for help on his homework, but he had begged him to call Niou to help him on his math.
It really didn't make sense, because although Niou was a genius at the subject, so was he.
Perhaps he wanted to set them up. If that was true, then it was extremely obvious.
So he had called him. And then Niou just confessed.
And now Akaya was dancing a victory dance, which made him want to head-desk.
Was his voice really that great?
"Um. Niou." He said intelligently. No one has ever said that to him before, so he really didn't know what to do.
"Uhm. Yes?" Niou replied, just as smartly. He was blushing like there was no tomorrow, not knowing what would happen next.
"Love ya too." Then he hung up, leaving everyone who heard the conversation completely red. Except for Akaya, of course, who was cheering and doing cat-calls.
Yanagi made a mental note to tell Seichii to make him run just a few more laps during practice.
I know, they're kinda OOC. Do you like it, though? :3
