I don't own the song or the characters
"Ring, ring, ring…" Brittany's cell phone had not stopped ringing since she had gotten back to her apartment. She looked at the caller I.D again and she was not surprised to see that it was Alvin…again. "Boy that chipmunk is persistent," she thought as she grabbed her pink suitcase. She ran her fingers over the top of the suitcase; she stopped when she felt something that was engraved into it. She looked down at the A B that was carved in one of the red hearts in the lower right-hand corner. "Oh… good times" she thought as she sighed. "Maybe I should just pick up the phone…NO Brittany! You can do this! You're leaving and there's nothing anyone can do to stop you." She told her self determinately. "Sorry, Alvin… I just can't do this anymore."
You don't have to call me
and say you're sorry
I'm already gone
It wasn't that Alvin was a bad guy. He just got carried a way whenever he was playing jokes on people. "That's all it was; a joke." She started packing her suitcase with all her favorite close. Her favorite pink sequin dress that almost carelessly tossed over the hot-air balloon by Jeanette when they were in Egypt. "He didn't mean anything by it. Why don't I give him another chance?" she continued to clean out her closet. She made sure to grab her winter jacket because it was freezing cold outside and it looked like it was going to rain soon. "I can't give him another chance because that's all I do. If I give him another chance then I'm never going to get anywhere. The girls and fella's are ok with this. Why can't he be?"
By the time she had finished packing all her things, the phone had stopped ringing. She looked down at it and noticed she had 27 new voice mails. Deciding not to check them until after she landed, she turned off the lights to her apartment and closed the door. She had called a cab company earlier that day and told them to pick her up at 7:30; she was pleased to see that it had arrived on time. She stepped into the cab as the driver helped put her suitcase in the trunk. "Where to miss?" he asked.
"The Jef-"
"Ring, ring, ring" again it was Alvin.
"The Jefferson Airport please." The phone continued to ring.
"Are you gonna answer that miss?" asked the cab driver as her cell phone went off for the tenth time.
"No, but I will put it on silent." She said as she turned off the volume.
You don't have to call me and break my heart
Each time I try movin' on, oh
When they finally got to the airport, she thanked the cab driver, grabbed her bag and started to walk over to the entrance. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and turned the sound back on. She would need to turn it off soon anyway, but she wanted to see if Alvin was going to call again. She took a big breath and exhaled slowly. "Here I go." She said as she walked towards the glass doors.
"Ring, ring, ring"
You don't have to call, anymore, oh yeah
You don't have to call baby
"Ring, ring, ring"
