Disclaimer: I don't own bleach. Thus I don't own any of the bleach characters. Without owning any of the bleach character, it's impossible to own bleach. Therefore I don't own bleach. And because I don't own bleach, I don't own any of the bleach character… erm… I think I should stop here.
Author's note: It was something that I thought of when I decided to not write another story related to Hitsugaya or Matsumoto or Hinamori. Just… don't kill me. Don't stone me. Or do anything that might put my fragile life in danger. And yes, I do fear death. (through I hope to be a shinigami… and in order to be a shinigami… one needs to die right? Never mind.)
Ps. I was thinking maybe I should write a chapter from Yachiru's pov… Do you guys want it?
He lost her.
He had never thought what the world would be like without her, he had never thought that she would go before him. It was always him. Fighting to death, suffering from heavy injuries and searching for dangerous, life threatening matches… It was always him… While she… she was always standing at the sidelines. She was always there. At the side. Just watching.
He had never thought what would happen if she went first. Never. It wasn't quite possible. It's just wasn't. But it happened.
He had watched her grow, from a baby. He had never understood why he took her along with him. He just mindlessly swept her up and placed her on his shoulders. He had never understood why. Why didn't he just leave her with the corpses? Why didn't he just leave her out to die on her own? Maybe… there's just no reason to it.
She had sacrificed her life to save him. From Yammy. From the no.1 espada...
It's always a wonder as to how she was able to understand him, how she was able to know what he wanted, how he felt. She had always seemed to understand what he had in mind. And she would stop at nothing to keep him happy.
She would almost never interrupt his battles. She knew battles were what kept him happy.
The situation was so unbelievable that it was funny.
He remembered Yammy turning larger and larger as he kept defeating him again and again. Then Yammy released a cero, a cero that would have turned him instantly to dust even with the protection of his large amount of reiatsu. And for the first time in his life, he sensed fear.
He knew he should have died, he knew he would be if only... If only she hadn't appeared. As he laid on the desert ground waiting for his death… She appeared. She appeared in front of him, as if she had already knew beforehand, what was going to happen. She released all her reiatsu and used her body as a shield, to keep him safe. To keep him from what he feared most, death.
He had feared death all along, but that was what made him love battles. Putting his life at stake, it was so terrifying that it was fun.
He still remembered the look she wore on her face before it went blank. He remembered her eyes. The bright pink eyes reflecting… for some funny reasons, it reflected pride. The smile she wore on her face… It seemed like… she knew. It seemed like she knew she was going to die. It seemed like she was proud of what she did. He remember himself seeing her mouth moved, mumbling the word.
Goodbye.
Then her eyes went blank. And her body started to fall. It fell so slowly. So slowly. With a smile still hung on her face.
He laughed. He turned to the sky and laughed. A maniac laugh. A laugh of defeat.
