Molly often found that she invited James over to the Burrow when Arthur worked late. He kept her company when she had no one else. That night was no different. Molly had invited him over knowing neither one of them had anything to do. She often found that James was good company because even though he could be a lot like his brothers, he could also could be quite calm, which is what she needed that night. Molly hadn't felt good all day because of her pregnancy and she needed someone she trusted to come over and just relax with. James was the perfect person.
"Do you need anything, James?" Molly called as she walked down the stairs of the Burrow in one of Arthur's shirts. Luckily she was short enough that it looked like an nightgown.
"No, thank you, Molls," James called back when Molly walked into the living room. Molly smiled at him as he looked back at her. She then walked over to the couch and sat next to him. James rested his arm closest to Molly on top of the couch as Molly scooted closer to him, resting her head against his shoulder.
"You okay?" James asked as he wrapped his arm around Molly's shoulders, pulling her in closer.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she said as she pulled her legs onto the couch, leaning into James' body even more.
"You know how I get when I'm pregnant," she said as she laughed. James also laughed.
"Yeah, you do get pretty emotional," James said teasingly. Molly swatted his chest jokingly. "Where are the kids?" he asked when he noticed how quiet the house was.
"They're upstairs," she said as her hand wondered to her six-month-pregnant stomach.
"They're really quiet," James noted. He knew the Weasley kids could be quiet, but it was rare.
"Isn't it nice?" Molly replied. James nodded his head.
For the rest of the night, the two of them just sat there and talked until Arthur got home, who then offered to put the kids down for the night for Molly.
