So this idea sort of occurred to me a few days ago. Basically it's just Rapunzel's thoughts about her new hairstyle. I mean, personally, it would break my heart to have my hair cut so short, and then it never grows back. :( So this little snippet came to my mind. Enjoy! :)
Looking in the mirror, Rapunzel reached up and gingerly ran her fingers through her crop of brown hair.
It was so…different.
A single year had now passed since the day she had met Eugene, escaped her tower, ventured into the kingdom, and discovered her true identity. Now, she was happily married, and princess of Corona.
Her life was perfect.
But something had continued to bother her. And she soon realized it had been her hair…or lack thereof.
One year, and her hair had not changed in the slightest. It remained the same length and same shade of brown, no matter how much she sang to it.
At first it had messed with her head. Suddenly without the extra weight, she had been prone to headaches and dizziness. Eventually she grew more accustomed to it.
But every time she looked at her reflection, she couldn't help but realize she was a different person. Her long, golden hair had been the reason for her imprisonment in the tower. Cutting it off was like releasing her from that prison. Her short, brown hair was a symbol of her new, happy life with her parents and her husband.
She gave a small, sad smile. Her hair was the same color as Eugene's.
He, of course, had been the one who cut it in the first place, breaking the spell. It had cost him dearly, but in the end her own tears had healed him.
Yes, she sometimes missed her hair, and had even spent a few night crying over it.
But her life was now filled with happiness. She was loved by her father, her mother, Eugene, and the entire kingdom, not for her hair, but for who she was.
