"Let's read this book mommy." Alice said to me.

I took the book she picked and looked at it.

"This is a photo album honey, not a story book."

"I know, but I want you to tell me about the pictures." she replied.

"Ok, come sit on my lap."

I motioned for Alice to sit on my lap and she did. As she got comfortable I looked over the pictures I hadn't looked at in years. Seeing all of my old friends lively faces brought tears to my eyes.

"Mommy, are you gonna tell me the story?" Alice asked bringing out of my memories.

"Ok sweetie, here we go. Well these people were mommy and daddies best friend growing up. They were brave, smart, courageous, and all around nice people."

"What happened to them?" she asked me.

"They're fine. We just haven't seen them in a very long time."

I turned the pages looking for another interesting photo to show my daughter. As I was going I saw one that always makes me laugh.

"This one is from our wedding. That man was in your fathers year at Hogwarts. They were in the same house, they weren't exactly friends but they weren't enemies either. Well when we got married your father asked him if he would play the bagpipes at our wedding, because he was Irish and he was actually quite good."

"What's his name?" she asked.

"Seamus, Seamus Finnigan. Well the sight of him walking around in a kilt was extremely hilarious. Ok how about one more picture and then you go to bed."

"Ok, but make it a good one."

"Ok I will."

I searched the book for the perfect picture, the one taken of me and my future husband while we were in school. Then I found it.

"This is your father and I when we were at school. Everyone said we were made for each other, and they were right. Ok, time for bed."

"Goodnight mommy." she said to me as she climbed the stairs.

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight daddy." I heard her say.

"Goodnight darling." I heard him reply.

"Hey what's that?" my husband asked, pointing at the album.

"An old photo album I was showing Alice. Do you remember this?"

"Of course I do. That was the day I made our names out of Devil's Snare."

"I loved that. I can still remember seeing Neville and Luna written on the ground."

"Well I'm going to bed, I have a lot to do tomorrow before heading off to Hogwarts. Goodnight Luna." he said as he got up off the couch.

"Goodnight Neville." I replied. I couldn't imagine him going away for ten months to teach, but I would just have to get used to it I guess.
