What has happened to me?
Why have I changed?
I used to be so innocent and trusting
But now I am tainted and alone
I used to always smile,
My laugh was heard everyday
But now I can only truly smile once in a great while
My true laughter is now rare.
Anyone who comes near me
Comes only because of a dare
My heart is breaking and is torn
I used to wear my heart on my sleeve
But now that sleeve is worn
The eyes that were
Once filled with happiness
Are now cold and indifferent
And know only pain and darkness
Yet, I must fake a smile and a laugh
Everyday of my life
No one here can save me now
Only one may see the true me
But I must ask you, "How?"
Why have I changed?
What has happened to me?
