The sound of a peaceful slumber, accompanied with snores of course, was interrupted by a flock of birds chirping an out of tune melody. The youth awoke from her dreamless sleep refreshed and ready to take on the world. She abruptly rose from her futon, causing her to slip on the sheets and fall face first onto the ground.

The youth huffed, "And I thought today was going to turn out great," she thought for a moment, "Oh yeah! Its mother's birthday!" she exclaimed with joy. The youth sprinted towards the old cherry blossom tree in hopes of finding her buried gift.

"I hope I can still find it," she frowned as she kept clawing through the ground searching for the gift.

A few minutes later, she started to panic, "No, no, no, this can not be happening to me," her eyes started to well up with tears, "I specifically remember hiding the gift around here," the youth nibbled her lower lip thoughtfully.

"I won't cry, and I'll just have to find another gift for momma," she mumbled depressingly. She hesitantly walked towards her parents' room.

The youth opened the shoji inch by inch, until she came face to face with brilliant blue eyes, "Eaaack!" she tumbled onto the ground. "Happy Birthday," she mumbled flatly.

The woman with blue eyes that gleamed with humor, smiled with glee, "Good morning Kaoru-chan, what brings you snooping around?" the woman started to laugh inaudibly, while another laugh accompanied hers.

A tall intimidating man, built with strength and power, whose ki gave a feeling of warmth and kindness, wrapped his arms around the woman. "It is my two favorite women in the world," his curious eyes glanced toward Kaoru, "Now what brings you trying to sneak into our room? Hmm?"

Kaoru, once more, nibbled on her lip, trying to figure out how she could talk her way out of this predicament. She only ended up laughing guiltily. "Nothing, nothing is wrong, everything is nice and dandy," she crookedly smiled.

The parents' eyes gleamed an unknown emotion, they'll let it pass, for now.
