Done as an attempt at the CloudxAerith 100 Themes Challenge. This theme is garden.

neocolors07, it can be found at the CloudxAerith forum, just type CloudxAerith in Google and it's the top one.

And it's extremely addictive, which is why I'm writing so many, plus the themes are wonderful. Anyway, lets begin.

Disclaimer: I do not own the characters or the game, only this story.

The flowers swayed slightly, due to the man whose hands where dashing about amongst them, trying to keep them alive. Cloud was failing miserably however, so many of them were dying, no matter what he tried. He tried plant food, loads of water, whatever he could think of that could help, but it was no use, they just kept dying.

But nonetheless, he never stopped trying. He promised Aeris on one of his trips to her flower field that he would look after her flowers, and while she looked apprehensive, she agreed, though she added that the flowers would get along fine on their own. But he never stopped trying to keep his promise alive, even though the total of flowers that were dead was reaching the world record for flowers dying ever, if there even was one.

Mud smeared all over his face, he kept on trying. But he just couldn't do it, no matter what he did. He seemed to make the flowers worse, if anything. Giving it up as a bad job for now, he sat on one of the benches, and wiped his face on his sleeve. He heard a giggle from behind him, but when his head turned round, there was nothing there, apart from a slight shimmering in the air.

I told you Cloud,

The flowers would get along fine on their own.

He smiled slightly, and walked out of the church slowly, he would come back the next morning to see how they were.

And when he did come back, he got a shock that made his chin drop to the floor. All the flowers that had been leaning to the side was now up straight, heads pointed towards the sun coming through the hole in the roof.

See?

Maybe flowering isn't your thing,

You really don't have green fingers,

Do you?

He looked at his hands and his face split into a wide smile.

"Point taken." He said.
