A/n: Hello! This is a one shot that I put together for a very good friend of mine. The pairing is Tifa x Cloud. I have NO idea how OOC they will be, so just be warned.
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T OWN FINAL FANTASY!
"Cloud! Phone for you!" Tifa called, hoping the lazy blonde was up. She loved that he was finally back home, but he always seemed so tired now. And if the crashing of someone falling down the stairs wasn't prrof enough that the teen was an exhausted mess, then nothing was. Tifa ran into the hall, dropping the phone in the process. "Oh my gosh, Cloud, are you alright?" she asks, walking over and helping him up and into a chair at the table.
Cloud grunted. "I'm fine, Tifa, I just got tangled up in the blankets..." he said, his voice a little gruff.
Tifa giggled. "Cloud, honey, your blankets are in your room, ALL the way DOWN the hall. You fell down the stairs. You're exhausted. And all I want to know is why?" she asks, her voice full of concern. She knew that he was sick, knew that when he came home, he had more injuries than when he had left. But what she didn't know is why. Why was he hurt so badly? It irked her to holy hell that she didn't know, and that he wasn't telling her anything on the matter.
"Tifa, look, I'm fine... While I was gone, Kadaj and his gang jumped me, and I got banged up pretty bad... But I promise you, I'm fine" Cloud finally admitted to Tifa, making her gasp, smile and nearly cry all at once. She was happy that he trusted her enough to tell her all this, shocked that Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo would go and attack him after everything they had been through together, and sad because she couldn't prevent it. She sighed and picked up Cloud, earning a yelp from him. "Oh hush you. You're tired, and hurt. You're going back to bed and sleeping, at least until you can stand on your own two feet and walk down the stairs" she says to him and carries him up into his room. Now this outraged Cloud a little, but it also made him feel wanted.
"Thanks Tifa. But, you know, I could of walked!" he yelled, letting the blush creep across his cheeks, an eye roll befitting a Goddess coming from Tifa. A fighter she was, a mother she could be, but Cloud was like the God of whining at times. This made her giggle. "God Tifa, you're such a fan girl sometimes..." he whined, proving her internal debate right once again. She realized what he said and stopped walking.
"What was that again, Cloud Strife?" she asked, eliciting a scared whimper from the younger teen.
"Nothing, nothing! I didn't say anything!" Cloud replies, ready to jump and run if he must. Tifa scared him sometimes, but he loved her none the less. If only he could voice that little emotion. Love, something he wanted to give her, and have back from her more than anything. Love, something that scared him beyond all ends. They had been dating for almost a year now, and he knew that he loved her, but he was afraid that if he told her, she would leave him. "Hey Tifa, what are your takes on love?" he finally asks her hesitantly.
Tifa looked down at cloud stroking his hair. "Love? Wow Cloud, that question is deep, even for you. Well to me love doesn't mean anything unless you mean it." she says and smiles kissing his cheek. She covered him up and turned off the light walking to the door. "Oh, and Cloud? I love you, too." she says, shutting the door, leaving Cloud blushing, but happy. He fell into a peaceful sleep soon after.
A/n: So, what did you guys think? Should I continue this?!
