"Goodnight mom." Bessie was standing there, in the stairway, onwards to her room. She was simply saying goodnight to mother after a long strenuous day of being Bessie, it was time to go to bed.

Bessie climbs up the stairs and walks to her room. As she walked to her room, she passed by Ben's room. "Ben's awake?" She asked herself. She could hear mumbling come from his room. Usually Ben would be fast asleep by now; it was 9:00 PM.

Being the curious girl she was she walks into Ben's room. Suddenly, she's met by a blast of cold air to her face. "Wow its cold in here." She says. Not knowingly, she stirred Ben out of his deep concentration on a book he was reading out-loud.

Ben raises his eyes from his book and onto his sister. "Yes Bessie?" Ben was annoyed at Bessie's interruption; he was getting to the very end of his excellent book. "Well it's just that, its way past your bedtime and I thought you were asleep."Bessie was tongue tied, when she though about it, why did she come into Ben's room.

"Well I'm not; I just haven't been able to go to sleep." He complains. He tries to continue reading but fails because Bessie continues to speak. "Well I can help!" She exclaims. Ben sighs when she said that. For Ben, all he wanted to do was read his book and be left alone. Yet if he told her that, it could hurt her feelings and he didn't want that. He needed to be polite as possible.

"Bessie, I'd like it if you-" Bessie presses her finger on Ben's lip, shutting the kid up. She jumps into Ben's bed, gets snuggly and moves closer to Ben. Ben presses his left hand against his forehead in frustration; he just wanted to be left alone.

"Now what book are you reading?" Bessie snatches the book from Ben and observes the cover. It was "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" "Oh Goldilocks and the Three Bears, I remember when I was your age Ben. Mom she'd read this to me, whenever she could." That stirred Ben out of his anger, mom would read this to Bessie? "Mom read this to you?" Ben now seemed curious. "What you think you're the only one who's read 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'?" Bessie smiles jokingly at Ben. "Before you were born Mom would come into my room and read this story to me, it was and always will be my favorite fairytale."

This got Ben thinking. i If mom read this to Bessie … maybe it wouldn't be bad if Bessie read this to me. /i Ben had a change of heart, instead of wanting to be left alone, he wanted now, comfort from his sister.

"But enough about me and more about this book …" Bessie starts from the beginning of the book. Ben simply smiles brightly as she starts to read.

iLater that night. /i

Mom peeked into Ben's room, wondering if he was asleep. But what she forces a warming smile on her face. "Aww." Escaped her mouth, Ben was sleeping quietly, but his hands were hugged around Bessie tightly as the two slept. Mom quietly shuts the door and walks to her room. "Now that's adorable."
