Emmett opened his eyes and stared at the sleeping form next to him. Though they went to sleep in each others arms some time during the night they became untangled. He studied her face as he often did. He knew every line, every detail. His thoughts shifted from their first encounter, to their first kiss, their first date, their first argument, their first reconciliation, their first time together, their wedding day, and their last kiss just hours ago. Daphne woke to her husband looking at her with an enormous smile on his face. She smiled in return and looked as if she was about to say something when his finger to her lips silenced her. He soon removed his finger and pressed his lips to hers to keep her quiet. He gave her a 'one second' gesture and then exited the room. She proceeded to get up and and go to the bathroom. She showered, did her hair, and brushed her teeth. By the time she came from the bathroom and got back in bed he was walking in the room carrying a tray. On the tray was two plates of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, and coffee. He placed the tray in front of her, sat down next to her, and the two ate. After eating he picked up the tray, took it downstairs, and washed it. When he returned upstairs Daphne was getting dressed. He snuck up behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and nibbled on her earlobe. Knowing he had to go to work she escaped his grasp and push him into the bathroom so he could get ready. He frowned but started up the shower and got in. Thirty minutes later he was dressed and at the front door kissing her goodbye.
Daphne was floating on air when Emmett left. She spent the rest of the morning cleaning up the bedroom and watching her 'guilty pleasure' television shows. Every hour she received a text from Emmett telling her how much he loved and missed her. She looked at the clock it was 11:20a. She made a ham and cheese sandwich, a turkey and cheese sandwich, grabbed two ice teas, a banana and decided to take it to Emmett at the shop. She arrived at the garage seven minutes after his noon text. She saw him working on an a car. She thought about blowing the horn to get his attention then laughed at the silly thought. She snuck up on him much as he did to her earlier, wrapped her arm around his waist, and kissed his gently on the cheek. He turned around and kissed her leaving oil spots on her face. She showed him the bag with the sandwiches, ice teas, and fruit inside. He punched out for lunch and the two of them sat in the employee lounge eating and enjoying each others company.
After lunch Daphne took a trip downtown to window shop. She stopped in a few stores and looked at some baby clothes. She wasn't due for another two months. She picked up a few things from the grocery store before heading home. She got home around 3:30p. She rested until a little after 5p. She put on a pot of tomato sauce and lightly salted water. She cut the onions, peppers, and garlic she brought earlier and placed them in the sauce. When the water began to boil she added the spaghetti. She rolled the meatballs and started the garlic bread. Everything was done and the table was set when Emmett walked into the house at 6:15p. Emmett washed up and then the two ate dinner. After dinner Emmett washed the dishes and the two watched a movie. Daphne fell asleep during the movie. When it was over Emmett carried her upstairs, kissed her on the forehead and then laid down next to her.
End.
A/N: So I wanted to do a Switched at Birth story where the characters didn't talk. I think I accomplished that and still had a good story. Let me know what you think. R & R.
