Atlantis: Oh Shi... phew.
McKay swore when he loaded up the folder where he kept all his work in progress files ont he computer.
"McKay?" Zelenka spoke up.
"My files... they're gone!"
Zelenka watched as the man got to work, only a minute later the man sighed in relief. "Oh thank god." he looked up at Zelenka and said with a relieved smile, "I must of put them all in the wrong folder when I was transferring the data to the new network."
Zelenka winced at the reminder of what happened to the last one. One of the servers were wiped after a naquadah generator was intentionally overloaded and detonated high in the atmosphere, to use its EMP effect to disable some nanite virus. not all of the computers were shielded against it and one of those happened to be vital to the operation of the network. They had to backup a lot of data and restore to the rebuilt computers affected. At the same time, they also had updated the software to the latest patches, which thye hadn't in all the time since getting them because it had meant a full backup was required anyway. Something to do with RAID'd partitions not transferring well to the updated system.
A/N This just happened to me, hence the ficlet. be glad I found my project folder for all my fanfics! That includes: Bad Wolf (2 complete chapters to be released) TFM (Ch32 still giving me jip) and a few others. AND my backup copies of the fanfictions I removed from here a long time ago.
