Chapter one:

The heads up display lit up the cockpit of the Majestic, a small spaceship capable of holding a small team but usually the vessel of a single person.

Ciardha looked at the information in front of her and give a grunt of disapproval as she saw the distance to her destination shorten, her hands moved quickly over the console as she prepared to dock at Omega a space station deep in the terminus systems.

Omega was a place like few others in the galaxy, it had been constructed in the half shell of an asteroid rich with element zero, one of the most precious and well used resources known to the galaxy. It had started as a mining facility but had expanded outwards into space quickly as more people joined the gold rush and space had become just as valuable as the eezo that had drawn people there in the first place.

Now the station was a hive of corruption and lawlessness run by whoever had the most guns and the most men. No one person or group had a majority hold on Omega but each controlled their own parts of the station which would often change hands during one of the many gang wars that took place or during a civilian uprising where someone new could swoop in and claim them.

A picture of the station filled her vision guiding her to a dock in a part of the station owned by a mercenary gang known as the Blue Suns who liked to call themselves a 'private security firm' instead to justify the higher rates they charged for their services. In truth Ciardha preferred to use the Blue Suns over the Blood Pack or the Eclipse for two reasons, One as long as you paid and didn't cause any trouble the Blue Suns would let you go about your business as you saw fit and two because they were much better organised and much more efficient than the others 'probably because of the turians in the ranks' she thought to herself as her ship touched down.

She was greeted by a pair of humans as she disembarked who gawked at her as she drew closer to them.
"Whats wrong? Never seen someone walk off a ship before? or have you not seen a female turian?"
The humans looked at each other in shock clearly not expecting to have to answer questions rather than ask them, as they tried to regain their composure a batarian pushed past them. The batarians were a similar build to humans but a little taller and with a more bulbous head but the main difference was that while humans only had two eyes batarians had four, one pair above the other.

This particular batarian was the overseer on the dock and had seen the Majestic land more than once.

"Will you be paying credits now or on your way out this time?" He asked looking at Ciardha with all four eyes but blinking each pair independently

"I think I'll pay you now for the next three days" was the response ignoring the obvious intimidation tactic and instead pulling out her credit chit

"If you leave early there's no refunds"

Ciardha didn't respond but simply gave him enough to move out of the way which he did while making a point of staring at the still bumbling humans to do the same. The rest of the journey out of the dock was uneventful and it wasn't long before the doors into Omegas streets opened up.
