"Bloody thing." 15 year old Lucy Weasley mumbled under her breath. The bloody thing in particular she was speaking of was a time turner she had found in her aunts attic. She was swearing at said time turner because it had fallen behind a trunk. It was wedged halfway down, just out of her fingers reach. "What are you doing?" Lucy looked up, and blinked a piece of her signature red hair out of her face. When she had, she saw her mirror image twin sister, Molly, standing at the top of the ladder. "Er," Lucy tried to think of an excuse. "Trying to get my wand." She said, lamely. "It fell behind the," She gestured towards the trunk. "Thingy." "Well, mummy says to be down soon, it's almost time to leave." Molly said matter of factly.
Lucy gave her a faux smile. "Thanks, I'll only be a moment." She said. Molly shrugged, as if it was no bother to her and climbed back down the ladder. Lucy waited a few moments to make sure she didn't return before reaching behind the trunk again. Her fingers closed around the tiny hour glass, and she pulled it out. It was basically just that, a tiny hourglass circled in gold.
Lucy pocketed the glass and made her way towards the ladder. Mum wouldn't be pleased if she was any later, because it was already nearly nine o'clock and they had to go back to school the next morning.
That night, she lay in her bed, playing with the time turner. She watched it untwist the thin chain, then tworl the other way. Molly snored softly above her and the clock read 10:57.
The door opened and Lucy's mother leaned in. "Lucy?" She said. Lucy quickly hid the time turner.
"It's time to get to sleep sweetheart."
"Okay mummy." Lucy reached out and turmed the light off. "G'night."
"All your things packed? Clothes, books, quils, parchment, all that?" Her mum asked.
"Yes mum."
"Alright, goodnight." She closed the door, and Lucy drifted to sleep.
