Kankri walked to school, handing everyone human and troll, cards and treats attached to it. Each different to each one's specific needs and wants.

He baked or made dessert for everyone he knew and cherished. It was an Earth holiday called Valentimes's Day.

From what he knew about it, it was a day to cherished one's love of relationship. He tried to make enough for everyone he knew. To his younger brother's quadrants, to his own quadrants and others who didn't fill any of his.

He found about this holiday from his younger brother, Karkat. Karkat was going on a rant about another 'stupid' holiday.

~Yesterday~

"I HATE THIS FUCKING PLACE."

Kankri was in the kitchen making dinner for them,"Karkat what did I say about using offensive language? You should not insult this place either. It is our and your/mine friends' home. Your human friends let us live on this planet, so you should be thankful for this opportunity and check your privileges."

"Okay, okay. I hate these earth customs." He rolled his eyes at him, trying to make him shut up by being 'less' offensive.

"Karkat, it one to insult someone's house, but not their culture. You know it can very triggering to them if you offended their traditions, customs, and cultures. It takes a long time, for these to happen. They also make take these into the heart, and love them, so you must tag your triggers before-"

"OKAY OKAY, I DON'T UNDERSTAND THEIR CULTURES AND THEY FRUSTATE ME."

"Which one are you trying to refer to?"

Kankri came to his brother, and sat next to him. "This stupid holiday they have, called Valentime's day. It's getting me all worked up, and-"

Kankri cleared his throat,"I'm sorry to interrupt you, but would you like to talk about it?" Kar nodded,"Please tag your triggers." Karkat got up and walked to his room without another word. He left Kankri on the couch, just watching him as he left.

Kankri did some research of his own about this holiday. He was just learning human language, so translating would be rough.

After cooking dinner, he whipped up some treats for everyone he knew would accept it.

~Back to present~

He gave some to the humans, and few of the trolls, each thanking him. That was when he realized he did not have anymore to give, and he had one more person, his matesprite, (Name).

(Name) was the first human to 'befriend' him, and they eventually became matesprites, when she asked him. He felt he would cause her to trigger, mainly because she always made a big deal about these sort of things. When she found it was his wriggling day, she stopped everything she was doing, and made sure he had a special day.

In the corner of his eye, he saw a flash of a (f/c) dress, he started to think of something, until a tap on his shoulder was felt.

"Kankri? Are you okay?"She gave a small smirkish smile.

"Yes, it's just..."

"Just what?"

She looked so innocent, when she looked confused and raised an eyebrow. Kankri's most loved thing was her, and he couldn't make her happy.

"(Name)?"

"Yeah?"

"I forgot to buy you something for Valentime's Day." He confessed, and looked the other way not daring to look at her downtrodden face.

"That's okay, I really don't like this holiday anyways." (Name) said casually.

He opened one eye and looked at her,"Really?" She nodded."oh...But it's a holiday tradition to give a gift or desert to people you cherished!"

She started to giggle,"Kankri, you're supposed to give roses, jewelry, or chocolate to your girlfriend, boyfriend, or 'matesprite'."

Kankri looked a bit uneasy,"I must have mistranslated it...I gave everyone I knew a homemade treat or some sort. I hope they do not get trigger or misread my gift as a gesture of feelings."

"I don't think they will."

"You think so?"

"I know so, they know your my Kankri and only mine." She kissed his cheek, and snuggled her head into his sweater.

He held his cheek and blushed,"Triggered"
