Riley ran down his stairs. It was 11:30 PM and Riley was bored. He practically skipped into his living room, where his piano was. The black and white keys were where he could let his imagination flow freely. Riley sat down on the polished bench, and lifted the shiny cover off of the keys. He placed his ifngers on them and began to let them gracefully flow across the keyboard. His fingers struck the chords gracefully, stringing the notes in to beautiful songs. He went into his zone, the place where nothing could disturb him. He didn't even notice the sound of the bench shifting slightly. He swiftly struck the last chord of the song he was playing.

"Wow, that was beautiful." KC's voice said. Riley turned in surprise to see KC sitting next to him. He hadn't even heard her walk in and sit next to him.

"What? How did you get in here?" Riley stammered.

"You mom let me in," she replied smiling, "I left my, I mean your sweatshirt here after last week's investigation. I didn't want to wait until later today when we were going to another place."

"Um okay? So why are you listening to me while I'm playing the piano?" Riley asked, turning his body so that he was facing her.

"Because it was beautiful...and I wanted to see you." She responded, the smile on her face growing larger.

"At midnight?"

"Well I didn't want to wait until tomorrow, well techinically later." KC responded. Riley's eyes left KC's face and looked towards the window and then back to KC.

"Well now that you're here, can I get you anything?"

"I'm fine; I just wanna hang out with you."

"Um, okay. So what do you wanna do?" Riley asked awkwardly.

"Can I listen to another song?"

"Sure. Why not." Riley replied smiling. He placed his fingers on the keys, just like he had earlier, and began to play. KC listened intently to the twinkling melody. She gazed in amazment at the swift movement of Riley' fingers. Slowly, the notes of the song fade away, and as he hit the final chord, KC and Riley locked eyes. KC felt somehing warm on her face. It was Riley's hand, wiping away the tears that had unknowingly fallen from KC's eyes. She felt he blood rushing to her cheeks as Riley slowly pulled his hand away.

"That was beautiful." KC said softly.

"Really? I've been working on it for a while." Riley replied, just as softly.

"Yes." KC replied, wrapping her arms around him and leaning her head on his shoulder. She felt his comforting warmth as he put his arm around her and pulled her closer to him.

"KC, I think I love you." Riley whispered.

"Riley, I know I love you." KC said softly, looking up at him. Riley swiftly turned his head, staring into her eyes. He broke the gap between them, pressing his lips against KC's. They pulled back after a few moments for air. With their foreheads pressed together, they began smiling in the soft light.

"I wrote this song for you," Riley whispered, "and I promised myself that I would play it for when, or if, we had our first kiss.

"Well it worked," KC whispered, softer than Riley, "and I can't tell you how happy I am that it did."

KC and Riley smiled as they both closed their eyes and sealed the gap between them again.
