AN: A very short fic for Valentine's Day featuring my favorite couple! I probably made Vera OOC, but hey, it's love! Set before Dual Destinies.

Apollo was having a Valentine's Day dinner with Vera. Trucy had set him up on a date with her, and while it wasn't necessarily going bad it could've been going a lot better. Sometimes uncomfortable silences would fill the air while they awkwardly chewed on their respective Italian dishes.

One of these said silences was broken when a man, the same age as Apollo, came running into the restaurant, yelling with glee.

"Apollo! I just got accepted onto the HAT-2 Project! I'm going into space! Isn't that great?" The man quickly noticed a very startled looking Vera sitting across from Apollo. "Am I interrupting something?"

"… Kinda, not really…" Apollo said, hoping his best friend would take the hint. He didn't.

"Cool, mind if I join you guys?" Before either participants of the date could answer, Clay had pulled up a chair from a neighboring table.

"…Of course not…" Clay then proceeded to go on about the HAT-2 mission and what exactly it would involve, how long he would be in space, all the training he would have to go through. Let's just say that there were no more silences.

"And Vera, do you know what's awesome about anti-gravity?" Clay asked.

"What?" Contrary to what one might've believed Vera was very interested in the whole conversation and had already warmed up to the soon to be astronaut.

"You can do somersaults and other things that you could never do on Earth." Vera seemed to find this funny and giggled. Apollo rolled his eyes and looked at his watch. His was shocked to see that it was already 10:30 PM. He had to be at the Agency tomorrow by 8AM.

"Uh, guys?" The two seemed to ignore him. "I have to go; I have work tomorrow."

"So if I were to paint in space all of my paints would sit there in the air and not spill!?" Vera was very fascinated about how space worked. It made sense since she was sheltered as a child.

"Yep!" Clay laughed. Apollo rolled his eyes and shrugged his jacket on because he needed to leave. He was starting to feel like a third-wheel anyway. He exited the restaurant and sighed. Things could've gone better, but at least Clay and Vera had hit it off.

At least I'm not stuck with the tab.

Yes, Clay did just barge in like that. Am I the only one who thinks Vera and Clay would make a cute couple? ... Just me? Okay then...
