He pressed his soft warm lips to hers. As he pulled away he kept his grip on tightly. She was wounded. Bleeding. Dying. They both knew it, but neither would admit it. Was she had seem the monstrous titan cornering the one she loved, she had acted completely on impulse and now she paid the price. The twenty-three year olds sat tucked in a corner oblivious to everyone and everything around them hoping for help they knew could never get to them in time. They didn't know if their absence had even been noticed. For the first time in his life the boy fought himself to keep his tears away. He wouldn't let her see that, he couldn't. He held her tightly, rocking back and forth. He tried to make the bleeding stop, but the injuries were just too great. There was no way for him to ease the suffering of his lover. He said "You are gonna be ok. It's gonna be fine." Over and over. His voice dry. Kissing her every few moments.

She pulled her lips into a tight smile, and forced her eyes open. The girl tried to say something but her voice just wouldn't come out. He held her tighter, repeating his words again and again. An almost numb feeling washed over her and it sounded like she was underwater as she looked into the eyes of her love. Her trembling body shuttered as a final breath escaped her pink lips. The boy kept back the urge to scream. Letting his tears flow freely now, he held tightly to what was left of her shattered body.

It felt like an eternity before they were found. He hadn't released his grip, and tears still fell from his eyes. The man who found them, a friend of theirs named Jean, stood there in horror trying to comprehend what he saw. After pulling himself from shock, he called for other to help. The boy was pulled away from her, his uniform and blonde hair both stained with her blood. He had to be held up by Jean and two others as he watched the wreckage of her former body carried off.

After, the three helped him back to his home. They helped him change and clean off, before deciding it was best to leave him. The boy sat silently staring into nothingness. A quite shuffling sound was the only one in the house, as a small being made its way to him, and pulled itself onto his lap.

"D-daddy?"

Armin looked down at the small girl in his lap, an exact carbon copy of her mother.

"Hmm?" he mumbled hugging her and trying to force a smile.

He pushed a strand of black hair from her dark eyes, as she spoke.

"Why do you look sad?"

Without speaking he hugged the child tighter, and then grabbed something beside him. The toddler could feel the softness of the long red piece of fabric and he wrapped it around her, and could smell the sweet scent of her mother in the folds of the cloth, as he pulled her closer to him and once again wrapped his strong arms around his daughter.
