Her green curls cascaded over her head as she stared at Alec inquisitively. She was beautiful. To him, she was the most beautiful girl in the entire world. And she was his.
"Daddy?" Staria asked, her chocolate eyes wide. "Why did you draw on yourself?" Alec chuckled and picked up the little warlock. "These are runes. This one," he pointed to the iratze rune that ran along his arm. "this one makes me feel better." Staria gazed in wonder at the rune, tracing it with her finger. "Oh." She stared at him silently for a moment, looking at all his other runes. "Can I have one?" Alec sat the toddler down and ran his hand through her hair. "No, sweetie. The runes won't work on you." Staria nodded, trying to understand. "Ok, daddy."
Alec's heart swelled at the site of his daughter. She was perfect in every way there was. And she was his. No one could ever take her away from him.
"Papa!" Staria cried as she dashed across the room. Magnus got down on his knees and caught her in a huge hug. No one could take her except her other dad, that is.
"Hey, beautiful!" Magnus beamed as he kissed Staria's cheek. She giggled and reached her arms up, wanting to be held. Magnus scooped her up as Alec walked over, a big grin on his face.
"Hey, Magnus." Alec said. Magnus held Staria with one hand and put the other on the back of Alec's neck. "Alexander." His gaze ran over Alec's face. "You look absolutely wonderful this evening." Alec smiled as Magnus pulled him gently towards him. "I always do Alec smirked as he pressed his lips to Magnus', placing his hand on Staria's back. She giggled and wrapped her arms around her dad's necks, hugging them tight.
Alec couldn't help but smile. His life was as perfect as it had ever been. He was with the man of his dreams, the one who had his heart, his everything and they had a daughter who was more precious to them than they could describe. Everything was perfect. Just...perfect.
