Chapter 1
I am Peeta Melark, I am twenty years old, it's been 4 years sens the 74th hunger games, 3 sens the quarter quill, 2 sens the rebellion ended and I marred Katniss Everdeen, and 1 sens she lost her
mind.
I hate to think of it but it's the truth and I can't run from it, I tried to, for the longest time I told myself 'she's just sick and she'll be better soon' but this isn't just the flu or some cold. Katniss is crazy, and we don't know why.
Katniss and I were happy, we had just gotten marred when n we moved back to district 12, every day when I came home from the bakery I would bring her flowers. One day I brought her white roses. Big mistake. she had cut her hand that day while doing the dishes and with the smell of blood and roses, she had a nervous brake down, she kept screaming he's alive, snows alive. It took both me and Haymich to calm her down enough to convince her that he was dead.
After that nervous brake downs were a weekly thing. When ever something would remind her of the hunger games or the rebellion set her off. It got to the point that she just stopped talking. That's when we decided to take her back to 13. we would have taken her to the capitol but she kept screaming that snow would be there to kill her, so we took her to 13 so that she could get the best care we could give her. That was a year ago.
She cant were her wedding ring, about a month after coming to 13 she tried to choke herself with it, she has a rope, it cant be longer than her neck or she will kill herself with it.
It brakes my hart to see her like this. I cry myself to sleep every night thinking that I could have done something to help her sooner, but there was nothing I could have done. Know all I can do for her is give her the care she needs.
Katniss takes nine pills every day, and with the little exercise she gets she needs to be on a strict diet. All of her food must be steamed, organic, and germ free. She cant eat meat,most of what she eats is steamed vegetables apple sauce and pudding and soup.
We are starting a new treatment on her, bringing in people from her past and seeing how she will react. The only person we've sent in is Madge, they found her in District 10 almost staved to death. Shes tried talking about past school assignments and how her and gale sold her father strawberry's. At the mention of gale's name she would look up from the table and look around the room as if she were looking for something but then would go right back to staring at the table.
This brought a thought to my mind. If Katniss was responding to just the mention a gale what would she do if her was acutely here. I don't want to do this seeing as gale once loved Katniss but it could mean progress in her recovery.
We need to bring gale in.
