Drabble 1: Painful Humanity

Humans are such pitiful creatures.
We wear our emotions so blatantly, showing everyone what we feel; our pains, our sufferings, our sorrow. Such as it is, no one can truly hide what they feel on the inside.
Our faces are the canvas, painting a picture of cold disdain and selfish hatred. Our eyes are the windows, showing the sorrows inside. Our mouths are the sound pieces, letting us grate on the others around us, seemingly impossible to let them all be a peace while we suffer ourselves.
My humanity sickens me, having to show an edgeless seamless mask to world the while the jagged edges inside of me leave bloody furrows in my psyche. The demon inside clawing his way to the surface, leaving the debris of my mind in his wake. I'm almost tempted to let him have my human remains.
But no; I must keep the mask of seamless perfection, so that the others may live to see a better future. So they can see an infallible hero, not a jagged, torn boy, whose life had barely begun.
The Hollows have the right idea I guess.
