It was a dark and stormy night. Lighting struck and thunder rumbled. It was precisely 8:39 P.M, and Jake walked through the storm like it was no problem. He was on the search for one person and one person only, Annabeth Chase.

To the naked eye Jake is just a normal mortal. Actually, Jake isn't even a mortal, or normal In that matter. He's a demigod, or half-blood. Doesn't matter.

A son of Athena to be exact. He never felt accepted at camp half-blood and ran away from the camp at the age of 14. Of course, no one realized that he even went missing, and that really pissed him off.

His father never cared for him, nor did Athena. Now he's working for the other side. Well, the dark side. His master requested that he brings Annabeth Chase (his half-sister) to him for a reward.

As Jake walked through the street, just a block away from his sister's location he thought about the chances of succeeding his mission without dying. According to his calculations, he only had a 23% chance of kidnapping Annabeth without being killed, captured, or slaughtered.

Before he even reached her father's house he saw her standing outside, staring out at the rain. Jake frowned and then approached her. "You like the rain?"

Annabeth looked at him and smiled. "The rain reminds me of a friend."

'Mhm, Percy Jackson,' Jake thought to himself. "Yeah, don't you hate getting wet though?"

Annabeth shrugged and looked back at him. "It's better than getting yelled at by my wicked stepmother."

Jake frowned and felt bad for her, just for a moment though. He couldn't and wouldn't let his emotions get in the way. "Yeah, my dad and mother don't care about me whatsoever."

"Yeah, my dad doesn't even bother to make sure I'm alright," Annabeth mumbled, turning to face Jake.

Jake frowned and held out a hand. "I'm Jake."

Annabeth stared at his hand and then his face. "You're a son of Athena."

Jake smirked. "Smart, just like mom."

Annabeth pulled out her dagger. "I haven't seen you at camp before."

Jake sighed. "Trust me, Annabeth. I don't want to hurt you. It's not me, or you," he said as he drove a syringe into her shoulder, causing Annabeth to drop to the floor.

It hurt Jake that he had to hurt Annabeth. She was the only person in several years that has actually been nice to him. But then again, duty calls.

This is actually going to be the shortest chapter because I am just figuring out what to do with this plot. I have many ideas but I am still trying to write them all out. This won't be really following any of the books but Annabeth and Percy are not dating yet.
