As Leon watched Sora leave Traverse Town he couldn't help but feel a little hope. Hope for all the worlds that were falling into darkness. He was a kid, yes, but he had a strong heart.
After the boy left Leon decided to go to the underground cavern. He liked the silence of the small cave, it gave him time to think; time to train.
Leon finally felt relaxed as he trained in the cavern. It really did help him calm down.
Then she walked in.
"Squall?"
He stopped instantly as he heard a soft, yet sweet voice call out his name. He looked to his left to see Aerith walking up to him with a smile on her face.
"Leon," he corrected and looked back at the stone wall ahead of him.
"Hmm, but Squall sounds more like you," she stopped, just a few feet away from the swordsman.
"Doesn't matter," he said as he began swinging his sword again.
"Mind if I stay here and watch?" she asked, but she really meant, "I'm staying."
"Why?" Leon asked confused as to why she would want to watch him train.
"No reason, I just like being around you," she said it with an innocence that Leon didn't understand, and she didn't know that every time she said something to him, it made his heart skip a beat. He wouldn't let her know.
And then, just like that, his place of mediation and peace was gone because she was there; she was watching him.
Leon couldn't concentrate as he trained. He was tense now because he knew her shimmering emerald eyes were on him. What was she thinking as she watched him? He couldn't stand it, why was she here?
"You're so tense," she came up from behind him and touched his shoulder.
Leon's nerves jumped from her sudden touch.
She giggled, "what's the matter? Do you not like someone watching you train?" she took her hand off of his shoulder which eased his mind, but at the same time, he didn't want that warmth to go away.
"I'm just not used to it," he said more sternly than he wanted.
"I'll leave then," she said simply, not at all hurt or affected by his words.
She turned to leave, but he grabbed her wrist.
"Wait!" He didn't know what came over him, but he truly didn't want her to leave. He let go of her, feeling awkward, "you don't have too." He recovered.
She smiled at him with all her radiance and as he looked down at her, he didn't know why he felt so uneasy before.
"Alright," she beamed and went back to her original spot a few feet away from Leon.
He began to train again, but this time he had never felt so calm; so peaceful. Now that she was watching him he had gotten a strength that he had never felt before.
And after that, every time he trained she was there with him, and soon in his mind, the cavern was not his place, but it was their place.
Squall had never felt so strong.
A/N - Just a random idea that popped into my head when I was reading LeonAerith fics. :) In KH1 I noticed Aerith watching Leon train, and I thought it was cute xD So I made a drabble around that. I do love LeonAerith so ;3
