Author's Note: Here's my first X-Files fic, well I guess it's part poem. It takes place after Requiem.

Neverending

As I sit here in this bed I wonder,
Who wrote my destiny?
Who said that you and me should live this nightmare of lies and half truths?
Was it the Cigarette Smoking Man?
Was it God?
Was it the aliens you search for?
Or did we do this?
Did we do something during some point of our lives to change our destiny from happily ever after to pain and suffering?
If you had saved your sister would you be the model FBI agent?
If I hadn't been such a suck-up would I have been the best doctor the world had ever seen?
Maybe.
But then we would have never meet.
Spooky and the Ice Queen would be very bored with their lives.
Probably.
If we hadn't been partners we might have started dating.
If we hadn't been partners we might have got married.
But I'm glad we were because if we hadn't we might have never trusted someone enough to love.
To create the life that lives in side me.
I guess we'll never know.
I guess this game is never ending.
