I really need to stop feeling so fluffy. It's hazardous to my health.
Disclaimer: I don't own Homestuck or Karkat. If I did, Karkles would have had a lot more happy moments.
Karkat sat at his computer, typing. Nepeta sat back in the shadows, watching her prey as he continued, unaware. She smiled, silently crawling towards him. She ended up right beside him and grinned. She roared, pouncing on him. Karkat just blinked a bit and turned to her, squinting. He just turned back to the screen and continued.
Nepeta's smile dropped as she examined his face. His eyes were bloodshot with dark rings underneath, his hair a bigger mess than usual. She looked at him and poked him. "Karkitty! Hey, Karkitty!"
Karkat looked at her and gave her a little grunt, turning back to the screen. "I've got things to do. Not now."
Nepeta looked at the conversation ad raised an eyebrow. "Karkitty, why are you arguing with your past self about the usefullness of blankets?"
Karkat furrowed his eyebrows, not letting up his typing, "Hey, blankets are pretty fucking useful. They're good for being warm and shit." Nepeta just shrugged at him and went back to reading the conversation.
"Karkitty, I think you need sleep." Nepeta furrowed her eyebrows. Karkat just ignored her. "Karkitty, AC thinks you need sleep."
Karkat just whined a bit under his breath, "But it's still night. Just wait until the morning comes."
"Fine." Nepeta sighed, "But don't you know? No one can stay awake when cuddling a kitty!" Nepeta laid her head on his shoulder, feeling him tense up. She snaked a hand up and rubbed his horns, forcing him to relax. Karkat saw Nepeta relax out the corner of his eye and felt his own eyelids start to lower. He shook his head, snapping himself into attention. He couldn't sleep yet, even if the purring right by his ear was really distracting and even if he felt warm and fuzzy...
He briefly wondered what Nepeta's hair felt like. She was asleep, so she wouldn't care, would she? He cautiously start to pet the cat troll's hair, hearing the purrs get louder. "Is your hair always this soft?! It's so soft!"
She basically vibrated by him. Her eyes fluttered open and she muttered, "Karkitty are you okay?" Karkat looked around. Wasn't he petting a giant black cat? Where was Nepeta again?
"No, when am I ever okay?" Karkat muttered, focusing in the corner of the room. "Gog, can you make the sun rise faster?" Nepeta yelped when the tired troll started to pet her head too hard.
"Ow! Karkitty, stop!" Karkat looked down at Nepeta, frowning.
"Sorry." It was then when he realized that his brain wasn't working correctly. Perhaps he really did need sleep. Nepeta started to rub his horns again, elicting a long throaty purr. Karkat decided that he was too tired to give a fuck, so he nuzzled his head against her hand. Nepeta giggled.
"Like a little kitty!" Nepeta said, scratching at the base of his horns.
"Not..." His purrs interupted his sentence, "A fucking cat..."
"Of course you ar-" Nepeta was silenced with a pair of lips on her own. Karkat had decided that he didn't give a shit about his own bashfullness either.
After they pulled apart, Nepeta's face was a nice shade of light green. Karkat just sighed contentedly and burried his face into the crook of her neck. Karkat felt warm and hell, why didn't he do this more often? He cursed at himself and his stupid insominiac tendencies. Then, it became too hard to think, with Nepeta purring in his ear and running her hands through his hair. They lay like that for a while, Karkat happily purring and Nepeta petting his head. Soon, his breathing evened out, his forgotten husktop begginning to slip from his grasp.
Nepeta smiled, "Sweet dreams, Karkitty!"
Just some mindless fluff. Review, I guess?
