She needs this, needs it more than she could have possibly imagined.

At least, that's what she thinks.

For all intents and purposes, Asami has lost everything she's ever known. Her mother left her long ago, but that's probably one aspect of her life she hasn't mourned in a while. Her father… her father has changed into a man she is unable to recognize. Her friends… What friends? she asks herself, retorts, They're good people! – she's been arguing with herself about it, about everything, for weeks.

She refuses to think about Mako, refuses to let herself consider that he's the reason she started down this path. She can't remember a time she was ever that petty.

Yet here she is, torn down by everything around her, everything she once thought of as home. But Air Temple Island is no replacement for the home she once had, or at least thought she had. This, admittedly, is no better, but at least for once she knows she isn't being lied to. It's funny how he is the only person who tells her the truth.

She caresses his face, both amazed and disgusted with the way she can be so sympathetic to his story and his cause despite the fact that she refuses to believe in what he's doing. She won't let him hear the end of it either, but now she isn't concerned with that. Asami is solely focused with the taste of his mouth on hers, the feel of his rough hands on her skin, the way she loses all sense of anything else – she escapes.

She can feel his smirk as he slowly pulls away. He's toying with her, and the part of her that doesn't want to think of anything else drowns out her voice of reason – an amazing feat, considering how loud that voice usually is. It was strong enough for her to break family ties after all.

Not strong enough to keep you away from this, she notes, but quickly forces the thought back down to her subconscious. She doesn't want to care right now.

She tastes him once again and her mind is lost to herself. There is no logic in her actions, only emotion – something she never thought she'd do. But then, after feeling only empty for so long, she needs to feel something else, even if he is Amon. Even if this is wrong, wrong, wrong.

He is the only truth in her world and she needs it, needs it more than she could have possibly imagined.

Or at least she thinks she does.

And when she discovers that he has been lying to her the entire time, she'll learn that she can't run away from what the world has planned for her.

She will never be able to escape no matter how much she longs to.
