Snape's Memories

I don't own anything.

Harry Potter was walking in the halls. He had to be back to his common room soon. But he had a little longer. He walked past Severus Snape's classroom. As he passed he looked in. He saw a tear on Snape's face and couldn't believe it. But when he turned to looked back Snape had no tear and looked as though if Harry didn't leave that moment he'd be in trouble. Harry quickly went to the Gryffindor common room. He decided not to tell anyone what he saw most likely because he was sure he had imagined it.

But he didn't. Harry didn't know what Snape had been through.

Memories flooded threw his head.

"There will come a time when Harry Potter must be told something. But you must wait until Voldemort is at his most vulnerable." Dumbledore said.

"Must be told what?" Snape asked.

"On the night Lord Voldemort went to Godric's Hollow to kill Harry, and Lily Potter cast herself between them, the curse rebounded. When that happened, a part of Voldemort's soul lached itself onto the only living thing it could find. Harry himself. There's a reason Harry can speak with snakes. There's a reason he can look into Lord Voldemort's mind. A part of Voldemort lives inside him."

"So when the time comes... the boy must die?"

"Yes. Yes... he must die."

"You've kept him alive so that he can die at the proper moment. You've been raising him like a pig for slaughter!" Snape said surprised and also angry that Dumbledore would want Harry to die.

"Don't tell me now that you've grown to care for the boy." Dumbledore said because he though Snape hated Harry.

Snape casted his patronus. It was a doe just like Lily's.

"Lily... after all this time?" Dumbledore was surprised that Snape still had feelings for Lily even now that she married someone he hated and died.

"Always." Snape said.

Snape remembered begging Dumbledore to help Lily. So she wouldn't die. He even hoped he would also hide James and Harry. So that Lily would be happy.

Snape remembered being bullied by James and Lily telling him to stop. Then he had called her a mudblood. That was one of the stupidest things he'd ever do.

Snape remembered seeing Lily dead and collapsing on the ground. He held her in his arms and cried. He'd never stop loving her.

Lily Potter was his only love and he'd never forget her.
