PREFACE
Yes, I was depressed. I spent a couple centuries alone. I had every right to be depressed. When you think your whole eternity is going down the tubes you meet this one person. That person can either change you or make you worse. This person made me better, and I thank him for that.
CHAPTER ONE- MY LIFE
Remembering was my passion. I would remember anything someone put in my head. A simple pathway in the woods, to the person who changed me into a vampire. You could say I was a nomad. I didn't belong or have anywhere to go. I had money, which I have saved. Remembering that day was horrifying. I swear I would re-live the pain, the agony. Not only the transformation but of him leaving.
The day was ordinary. Carlisle woke me up early. We left on a horse and buggy from Boston to the tip of Idaho. It was a long trek. It was after summer so the hot blistering days were over. The time was the 1870's. I was thankful for Carlisle for taking me in after the Voltouri killed my mother, Carlisle's fiancée. My mother was old, she was 31. She always dates younger men; Carlisle is 21. Ivy, my mother, only wanted what was best for me. After the journey ended we stay in a small cottage in the middle of the deep woods, for obvious reasons.
"Iris dear, let's go for a walk." He smiled arising from his chair near the fireplace. Carlisle grew on me. At first I despised him. I learned to realize that my real father was no good and I had to learn to live with Carlisle. I've been with him since I was ten and now I'm sixteen.
"Carlisle, I would adore just to rest." I whined talking the items that held my big spiral curls.
"Iris, please accompany me." He begged again giving me a pleading gaze. I sighed exhaling largely.
"We just came back from this treacherous journey, and now you want to go for a stroll?" I hissed under my breath.
"Do not use that tone with me." He stated hard.
"I'm sorry." I said softly and Carlisle took my hand. The wooden door was slightly ajar. I tried to shake out the ruffles on my dress but they wouldn't come out all the way. I sighed once again. He didn't have a coat on and I noticed the breeze hit my face as I shivered but Carlisle didn't even seem to notice.
"Aren't you cold?" I pondered and he shook his head.
"Would you care to take my jacket? It's on the bedpost upstairs."
"That would be delightful, I shall get it." I smiled. I sauntered upstairs to Carlisle's room. I held up my dress walking up the stairs. I saw his black jacket and wrapped it around my shoulders. It didn't fit me well at all. Carlisle was the only one that fit it well. As I came back outside I saw Carlisle scoff and started to chuckled.
"Oh dear," He said continuing to laugh. I stared at him.
