| This is my first fic in a while, and it's only a short story I wrote because I was bored in class, I know it's not my best. I'd appreciate reviews anyway, though, since I'm not very good at touching or sad stories. Anyway, thank you for reading!|
Winner.
That's what the ice cream stick said as Axel finished it, the two other ice creams in his left hand slowly melting in the twilight. As he stared at that word, he remembered his friends Roxas and Xion. They were supposed to be here with him. They must be running late, he thought. Maybe they got sent on a mission together today and it was running a little longer than usual. As Axel sat there, he remembered something. It was just a flash of black, and his voice calling out to somebody. No. No no no. He refused to think about it, refused to acknowledge that it even happened. Roxas and Xion would be here, just like every day, with their smiling faces and their laughs. They would all have a good time until they had to go back, like they always did.
The ice cream was half melted now.
Axel looked down at his hand and watched at the two ice creams he had bought for Roxas and Xion melted and dripped down to the ground far below. His shoulders slumped as he remembered more. He remembered the blackness of the abyss and his own voice calling out Roxas' name. As he began to fully remember what happened that day, he held his head in his hands.
He knew neither of them would be coming back. The ice cream was fully melted.
Axel tossed the ice cream sticks behind him, the sticks landing in a small pile behind him. A small pile of ice cream sticks, with Winner sitting at the top. As Axel sat there, a few tears made their way down his cheeks and to the ground below. Touching his face, Axel spoke.
"So this is what it's like to have a heart?" He smiled sadly as his body began to slowly dissolve. As his body disappeared, he spoke once again.
"I'd rather not feel this ever again. Roxas…Xion…" As their names passed his lips, his body completely disappeared, and nothing could be seen but the beautiful view of the setting sun from the top of that clock tower.
