Lily lay in a heap in Harrys bedroom. She knew she was dying. She could feel herself slipping away. A loud thud and someone running. The door, or what was left of it was pushed open and Lily looked up weakly. It was Sirius Black, her old boyfriend and James' best friend. "Lily, dont die."He said, dropping down on his knees next to her. "I....I cant...stop it."She muttered, having trouble forming the words. "Your not...your...going to live. Your going to stay alive and raise Harry and I'll help you." "James is...is.... already gone... isnt he?" "Yes.. but.... Im not letting you die." "Sirius...theres nothing to do to stop it." "Please no." Sirius put his head on her shoulder. Her heartbeat was slowing down rather quickly. "I cant fight it."Lilys eyelids began to close. "No."Sirius said, shaking her slightly. "Sirius......"Lily paused. He still loved the way she said his name. "What?" "Bring me Harry." "Ok." Sirius stood up and picked Harry up. He carried the crying baby over to Lily. He layed Harry in her arms and kneeled down next to her. Lily began trying to get Harry to stop crying. Sirius watched, as Lily grew weaker and weaker. Harry finaly stopped crying. Lily looked back up at Sirius. "I loved you so much." "I know, I still love you, but I know its not..meant to be." Sirius said, taking her hand. Lily was now taking short, quick breaths. "No."He said, squeezing her hand gently. "Theres one thing I want to tell you. Tell Harry this for me..."Lily waited for his answer, her voice fading to a wisper. "What?" "Everything is....ok...in the end..."Lily coughed and took a breath." If...if its not ok....its not...the end." And she smiled that smiled that had captured his heart so long ago, and she died.
