Summary: There's a saying that not all things last forever; especially happiness and love. Of course, it's just a saying, not a fact. Well, all sayings have some truth to them and that's exactly what she learns. one-shot Haya/Yuu

Warning: Character death, angst, bitter-sweet love, and implied suicide. You have been warned; rated T.

Her bangs fell into her eyes hiding the glassy, gray texture of them. Just one glance at her small and womanly form would tell anyone that she's a shinobi who always learns to live with death as the ninja way of honor; always living a dynamic life in which stability does not exists. If you look further into her eyes, however, you could see the longing and wishful thought of never losing her closest friend as he accepts a dangerous mission.

Every shinobi has his or her story to tell, but whenever someone would ask, she would always shake her head in disdain saying it was too painful to tell; to have to relive the horrible and traumatic events that had befell a shinobi.

Perhaps this is the reason why he was shell-shocked when she wraps her ghostly pale, skinny arms around him and says three simple words with a strong meaning behind them, "I love you." It was these words in which he couldn't help but not embrace her as well. This simple, two minute gesture will forever be the signal of a happy and long and loving relationship.

As we all know, however, things do not last and fate can be twisted evilly like ivy wrapped around a tree or ivy holding onto bricks; destroying and strangling.

Thus, the next night he meets with a fate and fall victim to the clutches of blissful and forbidden darkness. At this site, she takes the glistening sword and holds it up to the liquid mercury ray of the full moon, swearing vengeance for whoever had done this treacherous deed.

Due to fates twisted way of life, she dies from a fatal accident. Before she left, however, she used the last of her strength- in which could have meant the difference between life and death- to write, in blood, the last of her words, "Burry me, with the honor of his sword, beside him."

Therefore, proving that, even in death, she loved him and would always love him no matter her fate.

Author's Note: Since I have not installed a new chapter to "The Dark Streets" like I said I would, I decided to make this instead. I hope that this will keep you satisfied until I finish typing the fifth chapter to said story. Life has been hectic as this is exam week and I haven't found the time to write the next chapter. T T

If you want another reason then it's because I love Hayate and hate the fact that his lover had to suffer from his death.

Glad to have her readers' patience,
